This article contains major spoilers for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle and the Demon Slayer manga.
The first Demon Slayer movie, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 — Akaza’s Return, has been a huge hit, but it’s just the start of a larger story arc. The next two movies will introduce even more demons, ranging from weaker foes to incredibly powerful ones like Muzan and Kokushibo. The Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle story will move quickly, with major events unfolding, and fans are excited to see what happens next.
Chachamaru
A Cat Demon
For most of the story, Chachamaru was just an ordinary calico cat. But right before the last fight, Lady Tamayo turned him into a demon. This change helped him survive dangerous situations and complete his tasks more easily. Chachamaru will be very important in the final battle because he’s carrying life-saving poison antidotes.
Tamayo
An Ally of the Demon Slayers
Tamayo played a crucial role in the fight against Muzan in Demon Slayer. She and Shinobu developed a drug specifically designed to weaken him, and she bravely risked her life to give it to Muzan before the final battles. Even though she didn’t survive, Tamayo successfully completed her mission, which was essential to Muzan’s eventual defeat.
Yushiro
Tamayo’s Trusted Companion
Yushiro is a demon who fights alongside the Demon Slayers, remaining loyal to Lady Tamayo and assisting in the effort to defeat Muzan. His unique demon ability played a crucial role within the Infinity Castle, even leading to Nakime’s death and the castle’s destruction. He was powerful enough to briefly wrestle control of Nakime away from Muzan himself.
Kaigaku
New Upper Rank 6
After Gyutaro and Daki were defeated, Kaigaku took their place as Upper Rank 6 Demon. He shared a past with both Gyomei and Zenitsu, and was ultimately killed by Zenitsu during the battle within the Infinity Castle. Despite showing promise, Kaigaku never quite reached his full potential.
Nakime
New Upper Rank 4
After the events at Swordsmith Village and Hantengu’s defeat, Nakime became Upper Rank 4. Her unique power lets her control the entire Infinity Castle, and when she’s defeated, the castle will fall, marking the beginning of the final showdown.
Akaza
Upper Rank 3
Akaza is a powerful demon, ranking third among the Upper Ranks, and played a central role in the first Demon Slayer movie. Having previously defeated Rengoku, fans expected a very intense and emotional fight when he faced off against Giyu and Tanjiro. In the end, Akaza acknowledged his loss and chose to end his own life. Many viewers especially appreciated his well-developed character and backstory, which were key parts of the Infinity Castle arc.
Doma
Upper Rank 2
Doma was a compelling villain in the first movie, notably defeating and killing the Insect Hashira, Shinobu, but his ultimate fate remained unresolved. He returns in the second movie to fight Kanao and Inosuke, only to be eventually overcome by the delayed effects of Shinobu’s poison. This fight is expected to be among the most memorable battles in the Demon Slayer series.
Kokushibo
Upper Rank 1
Following Muzan, Kokushibo is set to be the central focus of the second Infinity Castle film. Utilizing his incredibly powerful Moon Breathing technique, he’ll deliver a breathtaking and intense experience for viewers. The film will feature a brutal battle between Kokushibo and some of the strongest Hashira, clearly demonstrating why he earned the title of Upper Rank 1.
Muzan
The Demon King
Even after being injured by Lady Tamayo, Muzan is quickly regaining his strength. As the Demon King and the most powerful demon, he’s incredibly difficult to defeat—sunlight is his only real vulnerability. Because he can’t be killed by simply beheading him, the final fight against Muzan promises to be the most thrilling battle in Demon Slayer, and fans won’t want to miss it.
I’m so excited – Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is finally in cinemas! If you just can’t wait between films, you can read the manga over on Manga Plus. And for those who prefer anime, there are already four full seasons available to stream on Crunchyroll. But here’s the thing – the rest of the story is going to be released as movies, so we’ll all have to head to theaters to catch it, depending on where you are!
