This article contains spoilers from the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle quickly became a massive anime hit, and anticipation was high when it was announced. However, even the most dedicated fans were surprised by just how popular it became. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 — Akaza’s Return is now the highest-grossing anime movie of all time, achieving global success. While its box office numbers are unmatched, fan ratings tell a slightly different story.
The highly anticipated anime film, *Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc*, is now available, and fans are loving it! It’s quickly become the second highest-rated anime movie of all time on MyAnimeList. Surprisingly, the *Infinity Castle* movie hasn’t even made it into the top 10.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle A Big, But The Ratings Favor Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc

- Infinity Castle is Rated 8.73
- Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is Rated 9.03
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has become the franchise’s highest-grossing film, surpassing the popularity of The Mugen Train – a surprising turn for many fans. The movie is currently the top box office hit in Japan and is also performing incredibly well around the world, continuing to generate excitement.

Although Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is well-received, it’s not the top-rated anime movie on MyAnimeList (MAL). Currently, it has a score of 8.73, which is good, but doesn’t land it in the top 10. In comparison, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, the second biggest anime movie of the year, is receiving much higher praise. With a rating of 9.03 on MAL, it’s the second-highest-rated anime movie of all time, only slightly behind Gintama: The Final, which leads with a score that’s just 0.03 higher.
Will Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc Surpass Infinity Castle’s Overall Number?
Surpassing Demon Slayer Is Impossible For A Series like Chainsaw Man

I’ve noticed that while fans often use MyAnimeList ratings to see what others thought of a movie, those scores don’t really impact a series’ overall success. For example, *Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle* has clearly outperformed *Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc*, even though *Chainsaw Man*’s animation is more visually striking. It seems *Chainsaw Man* just hasn’t reached the same level of popularity as *Demon Slayer* – it appeals to a more niche audience. *Demon Slayer* feels more accessible to everyone, making it enjoyable for a wider range of ages, whereas *Chainsaw Man* is a bit different in that regard.

You can now see *Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle* in cinemas! If you can’t wait for the theatrical release, the story is also available in manga form on Manga Plus. The anime currently has four seasons, all of which are streaming on Crunchyroll. Future parts of the story will be released as movies, so fans will need to see them in theaters when they become available in their region.
