As a huge Demon Slayer fan, 2025 is already shaping up to be amazing! We recently got an incredible movie that adapted a big chunk of the Infinity Castle arc, and honestly, the animation was just breathtaking. I, like so many others, am endlessly thankful to ufotable for consistently delivering such high-quality work – everything they’ve done for the series has been phenomenal!
Even the studio behind it, ufotable, acknowledges that the first part of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle was their best work yet. Considering how good it was, it’s no surprise the movie was a huge success in theaters. After becoming the highest-grossing anime film ever, Infinity Castle Part 1 has now earned a nomination for a major award.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Movie Could End Up Winning A Golden Globe
The Golden Globes recently announced the contenders for Best Animated Motion Picture, and as many expected, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is among the nominees. The other films nominated are:
- KPOP Demon Hunters
- Arco
- Little Amelie
- Elio
- Zootopia 2
I’m so excited about these nominations – every single movie up for the award is fantastic, and that’s why they made the cut! But honestly, this is huge for Demon Slayer! It’s the first Japanese anime film to be nominated in ages, which is incredible. Now, I’m trying to keep my expectations in check because the competition is really strong. All the other nominees are amazing, making it a tough choice. Still, I think Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has a real shot – it definitely seems to have the biggest and most dedicated fan base of the six, and that could make all the difference!
The Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie brings back Akaza, a powerful demon from the earlier Mugen Train arc. The movie delves into Akaza’s surprisingly emotional backstory, making him a standout character for many fans.
Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc Was Snubbed
Demon Slayer fans are excited about their recent award nomination, but Chainsaw Man fans are disappointed they were overlooked. The Chainsaw Man movie, focusing on the Reze Arc, came out in September 2025 and received excellent feedback, even earning a higher score than Demon Slayer on MyAnimeList.
Even though it received positive reviews, the Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc didn’t win, probably because it didn’t make as much money as the other contenders. Demon Slayer is far more popular, so it naturally brought in more revenue.
The Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc was stronger overall compared to Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. This is mainly because it told a full, self-contained story, while Infinity Castle only covered part of the larger narrative and felt unfinished.
Beyond its impressive animation, Chainsaw Man effectively used visuals and how characters interacted to explore deeper themes. The movie, ‘Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc,’ particularly connected with viewers by honestly portraying relatable experiences like betrayal, love, and the importance of friendship.
