Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Will Reveal the Hashira Who Outsmarted One of the Strongest Upper Moon Demons

This article contains major spoilers from the Demon Slayer manga.

Overcoming an upper-moon demon in the series Demon Slayer often necessitates the power equal to or greater than three Hashira-level slayers. Merely having more numbers doesn’t ensure victory, making it crucial to devise unconventional strategies for permanently defeating an upper moon demon. This is precisely what our skilled Hashira will accomplish during the Infinity Castle arc, as they choose to outwit a powerful upper moon demon rather than relying on sheer force.

In the storyline of “Demon Slayer,” titled “The Infinity Castle,” our heroes, including Tanjiro, his companions, and the surviving Hashira, journey to the Infinity Fortress where Muzan and other upper-rank demons dwell. As hinted by the first trailer for the movie “Demon Slayer: The Infinity Castle,” this conflict between demons and swordsmiths may reach its climax on a single fateful night. Now is the hour for the Hashira to take action, employing every resource available to eliminate the upper moon demons and their creator once and for all.

The Insect Hashira Will Outsmart Upper Moon Two

Shinobu Kocho Will Rely on Poison Instead of Brute Strength

  • Shinobu has weak swinging strength; she can’t cut a demon’s head off.
  • Shinobu will use poison to outsmart Douma.

Shinobu Kocho is a remarkably intelligent member of the Demon Slayer Corps, known as one of the most formidable Hashira. Despite her petite stature and gentle appearance, she instills fear even in characters like Tanjiro and his comrades. Beneath her captivating eyes and charming grin, manga readers understand that she harbors a fierce animosity towards demons, a sentiment fueled by the loss of her parents and her sister Kanae.

Instead of other Pillars, Shinobu’s striking force is significantly weaker, too weak even to sever a demon’s head. Despite her superior pushing and thrusting power being unmatched by others, it’s ineffective if she can’t behead demons alone. Consequently, she has to rely on an alternative method to eliminate the demons she despises the most.

It seems strange and unheard-of to sympathize with something that has caused human deaths, doesn’t it? Such a notion appears quite absurd.

Out of all the demons, Shinobu is determined to confront Douma, the upper moon two with bloodstains on his head, who was also responsible for her sister’s death. Knowing that her speed and strength alone wouldn’t be enough to defeat Douma, Shinobu plans to use poison to weaken him within Infinity Castle. Although it seems challenging, Shinobu intends to outwit Douma by exploiting his known fascinations.

Amongst all the demonic entities dwelling on the moon, Douma stands out with an unusual fixation on consuming women. He believes they are richer in nutrients and that by doing so, he’s sparing them from agony and torment. Given this predilection, Shinobu anticipated that Douma would attempt to consume her, a formidable female Hashira, as soon as their paths crossed within the Infinity Castle. By this stage, Shinobu had been devising a strategy to outwit Douma for over a year.

Shinobu’s Smart Plan to Defeat Douma

Shinobu’s Plan Will Fail Without Tamayo, Kanao, and Inosuke

  • Shinobu’s reckless plan will fail without the help of Tamayo, Kanao, and Inosuke.
  • Shinobu’s plan to fight Douma was more than a year in the making.

Right from the start, Shinobu Kocho’s primary objective was none other than Upper Moon Two, Douma. Being incapable of killing him alone, Shinobu devised an alternative strategy to weaken the demon before another individual could behead him. However, Douma possesses an unusual resistance to poison, forcing Shinobu to significantly amplify the dosage far beyond the norm.

However, upping the dosage doesn’t necessarily make it more effective, so Shinobu found herself humbling herself to collaborate with the demon, Tamayo. She confided in Kanao about her rash plan and purposely allowed herself to be devoured by the upper moon two. Her body holds approximately 37 kg of potent wisteria venom, which, with Tamayo’s assistance, will prevent Douma from detecting the poison coursing through his system.

You know, everyone’s afraid of dying. And that’s why I eat them all up.—Douma

Essentially, Shinobu’s strategy is to undermine Douma, and it’s crucial that a demon slayer stands ready to decapitate the demon once he’s weakened. As the story unfolds in the manga, Kanao and Inosuke are set to encounter Douma, so whether Shinobu’s plan succeeds in its final stage depends on these two characters.

Upper Moon Two Douma Will Fall

Shinobu Kocho’s Sacrifice

Fans of Demon Slayer understand that upper moon demons are destined to perish throughout the series. Their inevitable demise won’t be able to be avoided, as the battle between these demons and the sword-wielding warriors will eventually reach its conclusion. Upper Moon Two Douma is no exception to this rule, as the joint efforts of Shinobu, Tamayo, Kanao, and Inosuke are expected to bring about success. There may be costs along the way, but it will prove to be a worthy endeavor in the end.

It remains uncertain whether the first movie, titled “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle,” will reveal the result of Shinobu’s strategy. However, judging solely from the trailer, it appears that the battle between Shinobu and Douma may transpire. For manga enthusiasts, this anticipated encounter promises to be both heart-wrenching and emotional, as only one of them is expected to survive.
