Demon Slayer: Kokushibo Is Strong, But This Upper Moon’s Blood Demon Art Is The Most Impressive

This post contains SPOILERS for the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle arc.

Summary

  • In Demon Slayer, Nakime uses her Blood Demon Art to create and control the Infinity Castle, a pocket dimension.
  • Nakime can change the surroundings of the Infinity Castle or manipulate the gravity inside the dimension.
  • The Upper Moon Four stays loyal to Muzan, the Demon Lord, until the very end.

In “Demon Slayer,” we’ve been introduced to formidable demons such as Kokushibo, who is Muzan’s top lieutenant, and other powerful ones like Gyutaro, Daki, Akaza, and Doma. Additionally, we’ve caught glimpses of Muzan’s power in various scenes. However, there’s one Upper Moon demon that has remained shrouded in mystery throughout the series.

Indeed, our discussion revolves around none less than Nakime, a demon who holds the position of Upper Moon Four in the Demon Slayer series. She is not a frequent figure in the anime, and whenever she appears, her extraordinary abilities leave us baffled. Although Kokushibo or the Upper Moons hold greater power, it’s crucial to acknowledge that Nakime showcases the most remarkable Blood Demon Art.

Nakime’s Blood Demon Art Is Truly Extraordinary In Demon Slayer

We Will See The Full Extent Of Her Blood Demon Art In Infinity Castle

It’s indisputable that each Upper Moon is vital to Muzan, but when it comes to the Blood Demon Art, Nakime plays an irreplaceable role. Compared to other Upper Moon demons like Kokushibo who excel in combat, Nakime’s unique ability to create and control the Infinity Castle sets her apart. For those unaware, the Infinity Castle is not a physical structure but rather a dimensional realm conjured solely by Nakime. Using her exceptional Blood Demon Art, which she summons through playing her Biwa instrument, she constructed this enormous, concealed, and untouched sanctuary for Muzan and other demons. Furthermore, it’s essential to note that sunlight cannot penetrate the Infinity Castle, enabling Muzan and other demons to move around freely within its confines. In truth, it would have been challenging for Muzan to remain undetected by the Demon Slayer Corps without Nakime’s efforts.

Beyond just constructing an infinite multi-level realm known as Infinity Castle, Nakime possesses the ability to regulate every corner and component within it. More than this, she has the power to modify the gravitational forces inside her pocket dimension. Recall the instance when Nakime pulled Tanjiro and the Demon Slayers from their physical world into Infinity Castle? Even the most powerful Demon Slayers were unable to stop that. With a mere blink of an eye, Nakime can alter the layout of the Infinite Castle.

“I am very honored.”- Nakime (Upon being praised by Muzan)

Nakime possesses the power to transport herself, demons, or even others, to various locations within the castle. This ability allows her to transport individuals not just within the castle, but also in and out of its walls. A clear example of this is when she teleported Hantengu and Gyokko straight from the Infinity Castle to the Swordsmith Village. It was due to this power that Nakime managed to bring Muzan and the Demon Slayers into the Infinity Castle. At the time, Muzan was in a bind at Ubuyashiki Mansion, and he placed his trust in Nakime’s Blood Demon Art, which ultimately brought him into the castle.

Nakime’s Blood Demon Art Will Create A Lot Of Trouble For Demon Slayers

She Will Be The Last Upper Moon To Die In Infinity Castle

In the thrilling Infinity Castle arc, I’m excitedly anticipating the showdown between Obanai Iguro and Mitsuri Kanroji against the formidable Upper Moon, Nakime. Let me tell you, this won’t be a walk in the park for the Hashiras. From what I hear, Nakime intends to use the castle as an entire dimension, turning it into a labyrinth of challenges for our demon slayers. Each time Obanai and Mitsuri get close, Nakime seems to have a knack for teleporting them elsewhere or altering their surroundings. The Hashiras will undoubtedly pour all their strength into landing a hit on this elusive demon, but Nakime appears determined to keep us guessing until the very end. It’s going to be one heck of a fight!

It’s intriguing to note that while all other Upper Moons are eventually defeated by the Demon Slayers, Nakime will endure until the finale. In fact, when Tanjiro and his comrades shift their focus to Muzan, the demon king enlists the aid of the last surviving Upper Moon – Nakime. Obanai manages to escape after Nakime crashes a significant part of the castle upon him. At this juncture, even Hashiras comprehend that approaching Nakime is an arduous task, and it’s more prudent for them to concentrate on Muzan instead. Consequently, Yushiro assumes control over Nakime’s perception, enabling him to employ Nakime’s Blood Demon Art against Muzan.

In that scenario, Muzan found out that his most potent weapon – mind control – turned into a significant peril when he faced the Hashiras in battle. He attempted to regain control over Nakime’s mind, but the fight proved too intense for him to do so. As the Infinity Castle became an impediment for Muzan during this confrontation, he decided it was best to eliminate Nakime himself. Ultimately, it wasn’t Tanjiro or any other Demon Slayer who ended up killing Nakime; it was Muzan who took her life.
