The popular “Demon Slayer” anime is about to conclude its storyline, transitioning the remaining arcs into movies. In the climactic finale of “Demon Slayer,” numerous heart-wrenching deaths occur as the Demon Slayers tirelessly fight against Upper Rank Demons and Muzan, aiming to eradicate them from humanity once and for all.

This arc features major deaths of allies in Demon Slayer, with most of them being very tragic.

7. Lady Tamayo

An Ally Demon

  • Killed By: Muzan

In the climax of “Demon Slayer,” Lady Tamayo played a crucial role, teaming up with Shinobu to create a potion that weakened the Demon King’s power. Bravely, she administered this concoction to Muzan, but this act ultimately led to her own demise.

As she lay dying, Tamayo implores Muzan to return her children and husband, sparing her life only moments before he shatters her skull. Crucial to defeating Muzan and shaping the final storyline, Tamayo’s assistance to the Hashira in weakening Muzan proved vital. The loss of Tamayo left a profound impact on her friend, Yoshiro.

6. Gyomei

The Stone Hashira

  • Killed By: Demon Slayer Mark, Muzan

In the climactic storyline, Gyomei emerged as a significant combatant. Initially, he engaged in a fierce battle with Kokushibo, the Upper Rank 1, who is just below Muzan in power. Subsequently, he confronted Muzan himself. Throughout this battle, Gyomei proved to be one of the key fighters and was always ready to lend a hand to the other Hashira whenever they required assistance.

In a regrettable turn of events, Gyomei succumbed to death following Muzan’s defeat. The exact reason behind his demise remains unclear, but it appears that he triggered his Demon Slayer Mark during his battle with Kokushibo, and given his advanced age beyond 25 and the grievous wounds inflicted by Muzan, these factors likely played a role in his passing.

5. Obanai

The Serpent Hashira

  • Killed By: Muzan

During the climactic arc of “Demon Slayer,” Serpent Hashira, named Obanai, engaged in fierce battles against Muzan, the Demon King. Despite losing his sight to Muzan, he persisted in combat. Eventually, he successfully delayed the Demon King until dawn and prevented him from fleeing. In his arms was Mitsuri, and together they succumbed to their wounds once their mission was complete, finding peace in death.

4. Mitsuri

The Love Hashira

  • Killed By: Muzan

In the climactic stages of “Demon Slayer”, Mitsuri, who is known as the Love Hashira, advanced significantly. Her initial encounter was with Nakime prior to confronting the Demon King, Muzan, alongside the remaining Hashira.

In their battle with the Demon King Muzan, Mitsuri was incredibly powerful, but she suffered severe injuries. Her wounds were so grave that she had to withdraw from the fight temporarily. Later, she returned and managed to tear off Muzan’s arms. Unfortunately, she ultimately lost her life due to those injuries following the end of the battle.

3. Genya

Sanemi’s Brother

  • Killed By: Kokushibo

Genya serves as a Demon Slayer, yet unlike his skilled brother Sanemi, the Wind Hashira, he lacks the ability to employ any Breathing Style. However, Genya possesses an intriguing ability: he can ingest demons and acquire some of their powers. In this storyline, Genya encounters Kokushibo, a formidable Upper Rank 1 demon known for his immense power.

Genya isn’t fighting this demonic creature by himself, yet he still receives severe wounds that should have been fatal. Remarkably, he manages to remain conscious for a considerable period, using some of Kokushibo’s essence – specifically his hair and a fragment of his sword – to aid the Hashira in battle. In the end, just like a demon, Genya disappears, leaving behind nothing but thin air.

2. Muichiro

The Mist Hashira

  • Killed By: Kokushibo

Muichiro, who is the youngest among the Hashira and bears the title of Mist Hashira, experienced an unexpected demise during the concluding part of Demon Slayer. This young member of the Hashira encountered his ancestor, Kokushibo, in a fateful encounter. Kokushibo, being the Upper Rank 1 demon, was second only to Muzan in strength.

In this battle, Muichiro couldn’t have won on his own. However, he had the support of Genya, Sanemi, and Gyomei. Despite their combined efforts, it was a tragic outcome as Kokushibo viciously dismembered Muichiro, taking apart various parts of his body. Yet, even in death, Muichiro played a crucial role by activating his red blade against Kokushibo during the fight.

1. Shinobu Kocho

The Insect Hashira

  • Killed By: Doma

Among the startling deaths in the climactic phase, it’s the demise of Shinobu Kocho, the bearer of the Insect Hashira title, that stands out. Facing off against the one who murdered her elder sister Kanae, Doma, the Upper Rank 2 Demon, she meets her unfortunate end.

In a fierce struggle, Shinobu gives it her all against Doma, yet her relatively feeble power proves insufficient for decapitating him. Ultimately, he slays her, and in the process, ingests her toxic-laden corpse. This act eventually brings about his demise.
