In Destiny 2, players have an opportunity to acquire potent equipment through Kepler’s World Tier system, but before they can access top-tier gear, they must overcome several initial obstacles. The journey begins with the mission ‘Explore Kepler: Fabled,’ which can be tricky if you’re not familiar with the process.
This manual outlines all the stages required to conclude the ‘Explore Kepler: Fabled quest in Destiny 2’. The process may become challenging at times, so if you find it difficult to assemble a team, ensure your character has a robust build that can withstand tough situations.
Destiny 2 – Explore Kepler: Fabled Walkthrough
The objective of this mission is to gather additional Strangelets for the Altar of Relativity. It can be broken down into two main stages:
1. In the first stage, you will need to obtain Strangelets in Kepler’s patrol zones, specifically the Outer Steppes and Exile’s Accord.
2. The second phase requires you to complete a series of Edge of Fate campaign missions on Fabled difficulty.
Remember, it is strongly recommended that your Light level is at least 150 before embarking on this quest, as the opponents can be extremely tough.
Destiny 2 Explore Kepler: Fabled – Outer Steppes Secret Strangelet
After acquiring the Strangelet from either Exile’s Agreement or the Outer Wastelands, ensure to place it in the Altar of Dimensionality before moving on to obtain another one. Skipping this step may require you to repeat the events that followed.
After you embark on the “Explore Kepler: Fabled” quest, the position of the Outer Steppes Strangelet will be clearly indicated on your map. This artifact can be found within the boss region of the initial mission called EoF. To acquire it, you’ll need to complete the following steps:
- Go past the buildings and grab the Relocator near the Brig/Servitor spawn location.
- Fire the Relocator at the Teleport Pad through the laser-barred door in one of the buildings.
- Return to the Relocator’s spawn point and go through the newly-opened portal.
- Drop into the hole in the ground, then use Matterspark to traverse the nearby tunnel.
- Activate the Fallen terminal and return to the building.
- Activate the second Fallen terminal.
- Open the door leading back to the Strangelet.
- Defeat the Fallen Captains and Walker.
- Grab the Strangelet.
You need to take down both the Walker and the Fallen Captains within the next five minutes outside. If you don’t, you’ll have to begin the battle from scratch. When the Captains become invincible, utilize Matterspark’s Overcharge ability to break their shields.
Destiny 2 Explore Kepler: Fabled – Exile’s Accord Secret Strangelet
The Agreement of the Outcast, a mysterious artifact known as the Strangelet, is discovered within a vast underground chamber characterized by a towering central spire. To access this location, you can quickly teleport to Exile’s Accord and then locate the cave entrance that is barricaded by laser beams. For this encounter, please follow these steps:
- Grab the Relocator from one of the domes.
- Take the Relocator to the Matterweave pod across the Exile’s Accord Strangelet.
- Use Matterweave to suspend the nearby glowing platforms.
- Follow the platforms upward to find a Teleporter Pad in a building across the gap.
- Fire your Relocator and pass through the nearby portal.
- Press the button inside the dome.
- Press another button right below the shielded Strangelet to start the encounter.
- Defeat the Fallen boss while dismantling mines.
Engage in the battle, as hordes of Shanks and Fallen are about to swarm the cavern. The boss may also deploy explosives on some platforms. Prioritize eliminating the additional enemies and defusing mines first, then attack the boss whenever it presents an opportunity. Defeating the boss will dismantle the shield guarding the Strangelet.
Destiny 2 Explore Kepler: Fabled – Fabled Campaign Missions

After taking care of the Strangelet patrol zones, I find myself back in the game, ready to embark on the End of Flesh campaign missions again, this time on the challenging Fabled difficulty.
- Charge
- Commencement
- Gouge
- Quarantine
In this case, it seems you’ve missed a few tasks that were expected to be completed prior. If possible, ask a friend or two to join you, or prepare a character setup that’s tough to defeat. Once you complete all the missions, the Kepler: Fabled quest will be marked as done.
