Destiny 2: Best Revenant Weapons, Ranked

Destiny 2: Best Revenant Weapons, Ranked

Key Takeaways

  • Sovereignty is a deadly void sniper rifle with a new trait that weakens targets.
  • Insurmountable is a strong void sidearm with a classic trait combo.
  • Liturgy is a powerful stasis grenade launcher with dual-fire rounds and traits that synergize well with Stasis builds.

As a seasoned Guardian with over a thousand hours under my belt, I must say, these two weapons are absolute game-changers! The Exuviae, with its punchy Stasis Hand Cannon and quirky name, is a weapon that’s earned a permanent spot in my arsenal. Its perk pool is as impressive as a Titan’s shield, with Rimestealer and Headstone being my go-to choices.

Any Destiny 2 player worth their ghost is always after the latest weapons and God Rolls.

In Episode 2: Revenant, Bungie introduces some fascinating new characteristics to the loot collection, offering traits we’ve never encountered before. If you’re curious about the latest trends, check out this roundup of firearms and builds that are sure to grab your attention.

Just like the Into the Light weapons, you can obtain every item on this list through the Onslaught Playlist within the Last City.

In simpler terms, the Icebreaker and Alethyst are considered Revenant weapons, but I chose not to list them because they belong to a special class known as Exotics. Essentially, these unique guns come with pre-set properties, and every player would benefit from having them in their collection.

5 Sovereignty

A Deadly Debuffing Sniper Rifle

Weapon TypeSniper Rifle
ElementVoid

Sovereignty is a lethal Void Sniper Rifle with a fancy new trait that’s got many Guardians excited.

The Sovereignty Sniper Rifle can be equipped with the ability called “Withering Gaze,” which weakens enemies as they are hit. To activate this effect, you need to take a moment to steady your aim and focus on your target. This provides a new method for applying the debuff that we haven’t seen before.

In Destiny 2, it’s significant to debilitate your opponents because they sustain increased damage from various sources while affected. However, it’s not wise to solely rely on them becoming less likely to retaliate.

With the other skillset, you have an abundance of good choices to pick from. I’m aiming for “Explosive Payload“, but if you’re leaning towards a grenade-based strategy, you might want to consider “Demolitionist” instead for extra grenade energy.

It remains to be seen whether Withering Gaze turns out to be groundbreaking, but so far, it appears promising, and it’s always exciting to experiment with novel features.

4 Insurmountable

The Classic Void Combo

Weapon TypeSidearm
ElementVoid

The Insurmountable Void Sidearm has an excellent trait pool with a beloved combo up for grabs.

Whenever a fresh Void weapon appears, I always search for the combination of the traditional Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds. Insurmountable is particularly noteworthy as it possesses this duo and many additional impressive features.

The Repulsor Brace provides you with a protective barrier when you successfully defeat an enemy under the influence of the Void debuff. Meanwhile, firing your last shot will cause the Volatile debuff to affect surrounding foes with the Destabilizing Rounds ability.

Similar to top-tier Void weapons, Insurmountable boasts an integrated power source for durability, and it inflicts the Volatile status on foes, setting them up for a destructive detonation.

As a gamer, I’ve found that the combination of traits I currently have is quite popular among many players. However, it’s important to remember that there are other heavyweights in the mix too. For instance, the Demolitionist and Surrounded traits are also formidable choices for any player who wants a challenging gaming experience.

3 Liturgy

A Phenomenal Kinetic Grenade Launcher

Weapon TypeGrenade Launcher
ElementStasis

In simpler terms, the Liturgy is like a Stasis-based Stasis Launcher that you can equip in the Kinetic weapon slot. This means you’re free to use your preferred Heavy weapon alongside it. The Grenade Launcher works particularly well with the current seasonal Artifact due to its Stasis traits, as many of its properties are designed for the Stasis element.

Artifact enhancements are always appreciated, but the Liturgy has additional surprises in store. To start, it’s a Dual Flame Projector, an uncommon feature that fires multiple bursts of flame at once.

Liturgy also has an impressive trait pool. I’ll be chasing Rimestealer and Chill Clip. Rimestealer is another new trait that grants Frost Armor when you break a Stasis Crystal or defeat a frozen target. Chill Clip slows enemies and ties in nicely to Stasis builds.

Rimestealer is great for survivability, but Envious Arsenal is a great backup, and even Slideways is decent if you play into it.

If you’re feeling brave, you could even tackle the Dungeons with this thing.

2 Exuviae

For An Ice Cold Assassin

Weapon TypeHand Cannon
ElementStasis

Although the name “Exuviae” might sound a bit quirky, it’s actually a powerful Stasis-infused Hand Cannon that boasts an impressive collection of useful perks.

Much like how Liturgy moves alongside Rimestealer, yielding beneficial Frost Armor, so too can Exuviae travel. As for the Hand Cannon, it shares similarities with the traditional Headstone trait, causing a Stasis crystal to materialize each time you eliminate an enemy with a precise, killing blow.

During the changing seasons, this unique item blends flawlessly with Headstone, making it a tough choice to suggest alternatives. However, Frenzy and Explosive Payload are both exceptional alternatives and could potentially be the preferred options moving forward.

I love chunky Hand Cannons like the Exuviae but beware of its slow reload speed. The weapon has the Dark Ether Reaper Origin trait, which can help with reload woes but is inconsistent.

1 Bitter/Sweet

SlotHeavy
Weapon TypeGrenade Launcher
ElementArc

The colossal “Bitter/Sweet” is a type of Arc Grenade Launcher that occupies the heavy weapon slot in your arsenal. The effectiveness of a Grenade Launcher largely depends on its perks, and oh boy, the Bitter/Sweet boasts an extraordinary pool of them!

In Destiny 2, the Grenade Launcher can be equipped with a fresh perk called “Envious Arsenal.” This perk allows for automatic reloading of the Bitter/Sweet ammo when used, only if you’ve previously inflicted damage with another weapon in your arsenal.

Auto-loading traits are always extremely strong, but it gets even better! Bitter/Sweet can also roll with Bait and Switch.

If you’ve never experienced the Bait and Switch Grenade Launcher before, you’re in for an exciting surprise! The weapon increases its damage output after inflicting damage with other weapons you are using.

Here’s a great advantage: When you fire off both your Kinetic and Special weapons, it immediately reloads your ammo thanks to Envious Arsenal, and at the same time, boosts your damage with Bait and Switch. It’s a deadly combo that you shouldn’t overlook.

A well-rolled Bitter/Sweet is a force to be reckoned with and works pretty well in the Vesper’s Host Dungeon.
