Destiny 2: Get the Perfect Hawkmoon PvP God Roll With These Essential Perks!

In contrast to many other non-customizable Exotics within Destiny 2, Hawkmoon features randomized attributes. Known as a legendary hand cannon, it can pose significant threats in Player versus Player (PvP) scenarios when the ideal traits are acquired.

In Destiny 2, Hawkmoon is a unique hand cannon that spins at 140 RPM. It features an exotic ability called Paracausal Shot. Accumulating stacks of Paracausal Charge by securing final blows and hitting precision shots increases the power of the final bullet in the magazine, depending on the number of charge stacks accumulated. When Hawkmoon is put away during the final round, the charge stacks are removed. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the optimal build for PvP combat using Hawkmoon, known as the top-tier Hawkmoon god roll.

Destiny 2: Hawkmoon PvP God Roll

The Hawkmoon weapon primarily excels in Player versus Player (PvP) scenarios, offering little advantage in Player versus Environment (PvE). While it’s technically possible to adapt it for PvE with an emphasis on its Exotic trait and precise shots, this approach is not generally effective or recommended, especially when tackling high-level content.

Here’s the Hawkmoon PvP god roll:

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4
Hammer-Forged Rifling Alloy Magazine Eye of the Storm Smooth Grip

In simpler terms, Hawkmoon’s ability is stationary in the second column, which means you should primarily focus on the other three options. Hammer-Forged Rifling is often chosen for increased range, but Smallbore offers a good blend of range and stability as well.

In this third column, the standout benefit for PvP is called Eye of the Storm. As your health decreases, it boosts your weapon’s stability and precision. The primary reason to choose it over Opening Shot lies in Hawkmoon’s Catalyst. Its unique perk, Hunter’s Trace, expands the magazine capacity and enhances reload speed, handling, and range depending on the number of Paracausal Charge stacks you have accumulated.

In conclusion, the Smooth Grip provides advantages without any downsides, so you won’t require extra control from a Polymer Grip due to the Eye of the Storm feature. However, if you prefer, you can choose a Heavy Grip. The Eye of the Storm feature compensates for the handling loss on the Heavy Grip, and it even adds additional control from Paracausal Charge stacks.

How to Get Hawkmoon in Destiny 2

Obtaining Hawkmoon with the desired permutation can be somewhat challenging since the Harbinger mission no longer provides it. Currently, you can only acquire it from Xur, who appears every Friday through Tuesday. He offers a diverse range of items such as Exotic Armor, Exotic Class goods, weapon Catalysts, Legendary equipment, and other exciting items.

Each week, I make it a point to visit Xur, who offers a random roll for Hawkmoon – if I’ve managed to collect 23 Strange Coins. I earn these coins by playing through various core playlists throughout the week. It’s always wise to swing by and see what roll Xur has on offer, as it might just be worth adding to my arsenal!
