Destiny 2: How To Farm Candy

As a seasoned Guardian who has battled through countless Hive invasions and Vex incursions, I can confidently say that the Festival of the Lost is my favorite time of year in Destiny 2. The return of this spooky event not only brings back nostalgic memories but also offers an opportunity to collect some sweet, sweet Candy!

This year’s Festival of the Lost is happening in full force within Destiny 2, and along with its arrival come unique Festival of the Lost currencies such as Candy. Although the usage of Candy has evolved somewhat over the past few years, the method of obtaining it remains consistent.

For those Destiny 2 players who may not be acquainted with this specific currency, here’s a guide on what Candy is for and simple methods to swiftly accumulate it during the Festival of the Lost. Regardless of prior knowledge, these techniques can assist in obtaining Candy promptly for the event.

What Is Candy Used For?

Candy only has one purpose in Destiny 2:to buy Mystery Bags. There are two variations of Mystery Bags to choose from: the standard version and the Epic Mystery Bag. The standard Mystery Bag contains simple rewards such as Rare Armor, Weapons, and some Glimmer. On the other hand, the Epic Mystery Bag holds Legendary Armor and Weapons within, including some Legendary Shards.

Although the contents of Mystery Bags might not be boast-worthy, players may need to buy several of them to accomplish a challenge leading to the Ghost Writer title. On the other hand, many challenges ask for a substantial quantity of Candy, up to 30,000 in total. Therefore, it’s beneficial for players to familiarize themselves with some strategies for harvesting it.

How To Farm Candy

In Destiny 2, you can acquire candy by vanquishing foes or finishing tasks within the game, all while donning a FOTL Mask. For advanced players, Grandmaster Nightfalls offer a lucrative way to accumulate candy. Each successful run rewards 700 candy, and players can earn even more by eliminating enemies during the Strike. On average, players could potentially gather between 800-900 candy per mission if they’re adept at handling enemy waves.

For players adept at taking down groups of enemies on their own, there are two spots where they can swiftly gather candy in a hurry. The first is the Shuro-Chi battle within the Last Wish raid. By utilizing the Wish Wall for teleportation to the encounter, they can immediately engage with the Taken Thrall army that appears throughout the fight. After defeating the enemies and wiping themselves out, they can simply reset and repeat this process multiple times, earning hundreds of Candies every 2-3 minutes.

The final spot to farm Candy would be the entrance to the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon. Like the Shuro-Chi encounter, waves of Thrall will continue to spawn at the opening of the Dungeon until players collect enough treasure to open the secret door. The recommendation would be to use weapons such as Witherhoard or Forbearance to clear all the Thrall out in one go. As players clear the enemies out, they can collect their Candy until they can’t collect anymore.

Free Weekly Candy

The giant trees near Eva and Ikora at the Tower actually have some Candy pickups on them that players can get once a week per character. Each tree holds about 400 Candy each — if you have three characters, that’s a little over 1200 free Candy every week for as long as Festival of the Lost is active. While this method isn’t something that players can do multiple times in a session, it’s a great way to supplement your average Candy earnings while playing the game.

Overthrow Public Event

In the Pale Heart, participants have a chance to collect small quantities of Candy by taking part in Overthrow events. Typically, each completed Overthrow awards approximately 300 Candy, though this isn’t a large amount. However, it might also grant players Exotic Class Items as a bonus reward. As for the Festival of the Lost 2024 event, players can now buy Exotic Class Items directly from Eva Levante if they have completed the associated quest.
