As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt and countless hours spent in various virtual worlds, I can confidently say that the Splinter Cell-inspired outfit created by LazyLiMy for Destiny 2 is an absolute masterpiece. It’s not every day we see such attention to detail and a nod to one of the best games ever devised, right after reminiscing about old times with my trusty night vision goggles and thermal detonators.

A cunning player of Destiny 2 has added an element of stealth to the game’s typically action-packed environment with a new Splinter Cell-inspired outfit for Hunters. The design is both stylish and functional in both regular and PVP play, as confirmed by its creator.

In terms of visual appeal, Destiny 2 stands out distinctly due to the artistic guidance provided by developer Bungie. Yet, what truly sets it apart is its extensive array of armor parts and color shaders, enabling players to creatively customize their characters, mimicking a vast variety of figures from diverse aesthetic realms. By utilizing Destiny 2’s flexible costume system, one can bring iconic Bungie characters like Master Chief to life, or even imagine the unusual sight of a Destiny 2 Titan transformed into a cornhead!

As LazyLiMy, I crafted an exceptional Splinter Cell-inspired ensemble for my Destiny character, showcasing it to the DestinyFashion Reddit community. My goal was to embody a Third Echelon operative from what many consider the best Tom Clancy game series, and I believe I achieved that with the strategic use of Hunter armor pieces.

Destiny 2 Splinter Cell Outfit Cleverly Uses Superblack Shader

The costume designed by LazyLiMy for Splinter Cell incorporates the widely recognized Superblack color shader from Destiny 2 across all armor pieces except the head. The head piece is colored with the Gambit Jadestone shader, which plays a crucial role in complementing the glowing green elements of the shader. To further emphasize the iconic look of Sam Fisher’s visor, LazyLiMy has included a Wastelander Mask that mimics its night vision scopes with glowing green lenses. As an alternative option, there is also the Kit Fox 1.5 mask available, featuring a linear lens on its visor.

The costume’s torso and arms recreate the low-profile tactical armored look by using the Siegebreak Grips and vest-like Legatus Cuirass, while the Hunter Exotic St0mp-EE5 armor adds a more subtle flair when equipped with the Astrostrides ornament. Finally, the Couturier Clock completes the look, as its hood is kept down, preserving the Splinter Cell-style outline. Fellow players praised the costume and its creator for its appearance, and also for including recommendations for the player’s ship and Ghost Shell, two aspects often ignored by players creating custom outfits. LazyLiMy recommended the premium-priced Alfa-Zulu jumpship for its resemblance to a modern military helicopter, while using the Golf-Tango Ghost Shell for its ability to make the player’s Ghost look like an ordinary recon drone.

Despite a lengthy hiatus of the Splinter Cell series, the fact that one of its costumes appears in another game underscores its lasting impact on gamers worldwide. Ubisoft should continue working on their planned Splinter Cell remake to reignite interest in this classic franchise among players.
