Destiny 2: Renegades Overhauling Bounties and Seasonal Challenges

Bungie is making big changes to how you get rewards in Destiny 2. They’re replacing the existing bounty and seasonal challenge system with something new called Orders. This is part of Bungie’s ongoing effort to improve the game, and the upcoming Renegades expansion will include these significant updates.

With Destiny 2 facing some challenges, Bungie is actively responding to player feedback to improve the game. They recently removed Unstable Cores – a resource added in The Edge of Fate for upgrading gear – as players found the system frustrating and didn’t use it much. Now, Bungie is planning a major update to the bounty system to try and regain players’ satisfaction and make the game more enjoyable.

Destiny 2 Reveals the Orders System

Bungie recently announced a new system called Orders, coming with the next expansion for Destiny 2, Renegades. This system will replace both bounties and seasonal challenges, and Bungie aims to make the game more enjoyable by letting players focus on the activities they prefer. The Orders system, found in a seasonal hub, will offer Daily, Weekly, and Active objectives. These will task players with things like defeating enemies, using specific gear, or completing certain activities. A helpful addition is that teamwork counts too – contributions from teammates will progress Orders, though individual progress will be higher if you do it yourself.

In Destiny 2, orders come in three types – Common, Legendary, and Exotic – each with different reward amounts. You’ll receive Bright Dust when you complete these orders, but there are weekly limits: 1,000 Bright Dust for Common and Legendary orders, and 6,000 total for Exotic orders. If you exceed these limits, you’ll still earn a small amount of Bright Dust for completing those order types. When the Renegades update arrives, most bounties will be removed, though you can still find offerings from vendors like Variks and Petra.

The new Star Wars-themed Renegades expansion has people excited, but Destiny 2 is facing serious challenges. Lots of bugs and frustrated players are causing the number of players to drop to concerning levels. Even well-known members of the Destiny 2 community are stepping away, putting a lot of pressure on the December expansion to fix things and bring players back.
