Bungie has revealed the new exotic weapons and armor coming in the upcoming Renegades expansion for Destiny 2. Many of the items shown appear to be inspired by classic Star Wars weapons, reimagined for the Destiny 2 universe.
Currently, Destiny 2 is facing some challenges, as player numbers on Steam have dropped to a concerning level for a game that relies on ongoing player engagement. Even popular community figures like Datto and Gladd have taken a break. Many are hoping the upcoming ‘Renegades’ expansion in December will bring back the enthusiasm players once had for the game.
Destiny 2 Renegades Exotic Weapons and Armor
The new trailer for Destiny 2’s Renegades, voiced by the character Spider, starts by showcasing weapons inspired by Star Wars. The Uncivil Discourse pistol is clearly based on Han Solo’s DL-44, and the A499 sniper rifle closely resembles the Amban rifle from The Mandalorian. The trailer also revealed the Modified B-7 Pistol, All or Nothing Pulse Rifle, Compact Defender sidearm, and the M-17 Fast Talker SMG.
The Praxic Sword is a weapon that uses kinetic energy, and it strongly resembles the Lightsaber from Star Wars. Similarly, the Heirloom – a powerful, explosive crossbow – seems to be inspired by Chewbacca’s Boltcaster.
The trailer offered a preview of new exotic armor for each class – Hunter, Warlock, and Titan. For Hunters, the Fortune’s Favor leg armor slowly refills shields, eventually creating an overshield. Warlocks will receive Deimosuffusion, which suspends and damages nearby enemies over time. Initial reactions to these two exotics have been somewhat muted, as their abilities feel similar to existing game mechanics or aren’t particularly exciting. Players are hoping these exotics will have hidden depths revealed when the Destiny 2 Renegades expansion releases.

The Titan’s Praxic Vestment is getting a lot of attention. This new exotic gear lets Titans perform an advanced aerial maneuver, similar to the flight suits in Anthem. Many players also believe it’s Bungie’s reimagining of the popular Destiny exotic, Twilight Garrison. Rather than simply bringing it back, Bungie appears to have improved and updated it, potentially making it even better.
