In a recent update, Bungie addressed a significant player concern about the Court of Blades in Destiny 2, and also fixed several weapon-related bugs. While the main Episode Heresy has concluded, Bungie continues to offer new content for Destiny 2 players, including in-game updates and upcoming announcements.
Within the Destiny 2 gaming community, there’s been quite a buzz and enthusiasm recently. Following some initial apprehensions about the game after the Marathon gameplay unveiling, Bungie has announced that the next Destiny 2 expansion will be titled The Edge of Fate, marking the beginning of the upcoming Codename: Frontiers era. Even more exciting is that Bungie will be sharing details about The Edge of Fate in a live stream on May 6. Until then, Bungie is keeping the core game up-to-date for those who are still playing the current storyline.
In a recent update for Destiny 2, Bungie has made significant alterations to the Court of Blades activity due to player feedback. Players had been expressing concerns about the Lucent Hive being excessively challenging compared to other boss characters in Expert rotator. To address this issue, Bungie has decreased the health of the Lucent Hive Guardian bosses and deactivated their supers until they’re below 33% health. Additionally, they have removed Lucent Hive knights from the randomized fodder selection on Expert to prevent unexpected difficulty surges.
In the latest update from Bungie, I was thrilled to see that they addressed a few glitches concerning Rocket Sidearms and Support Frame Auto Rifles in Destiny 2. Now, my favorite sidearm can self-damage me once more, adding an extra layer of challenge. Moreover, the elemental effects on those Support Frame Auto Rifles are now active during the second encounter of Sundered Doctrine again, bringing back a familiar and exciting dynamic to gameplay.
With Bungie now focusing on two live-service games full time, some fans worry that this split focus might negatively impact the future of Destiny 2. However, Joe Ziegler, director of Marathon game at Bungie, has reassured fans that Destiny 2 is not being replaced and will indeed have a future. Fortunately, Bungie’s announcement of The Edge of Fate shortly after this clarification suggests the beginning of a new chapter for the popular title.
