Luckily, Bungie acted promptly and revealed significant adjustments to Destiny 2’s Rite of the Nine activity, making the schedule more accommodating and enhancing the overall rewards of the event.

With the Heavy Metal event for Destiny 2 wrapping up, Trials of Osiris is back in action following a brief hiatus. To show their appreciation for player endurance, Bungie has announced that extra reputation points will be doled out this weekend. However, Iron Banner enthusiasts should note that it’s set to resurface at next week’s reset, so make the most of your matches before the weekend playlist goes on a temporary break for another week.

On weekends, the enigmatic trader Xur makes an appearance once more, offering fresh merchandise for gamers of Destiny 2. Here’s a guide to help you find his whereabouts this weekend, along with updates on his exotic cipher quest and a rundown of all the exotic and legendary items he’s stocked up for the May 16, 2025 weekend.

Where is Xur?

Now, you can find Xur permanently stationed within The Tower’s Bazaar region, meaning weekends are no longer a time for searching him out.

Because the Marketplace lies right in between the two quick travel spots, players can choose either one as an entry point. Make your way to the place where Ikora and Hawthorne often gather, then search for the Ramen Shop situated towards the back. With the shop facing you, Xur’s hidden alleyway is located on the right side.

Destiny 2 Exotic Class Armor

Over time, Xur’s responsibilities have broadened and undergone development. With the addition of The Final Shape expansion, the variety of items available from Xur in Destiny 2 grew significantly. Once again using Strange Coins as currency, he now offers rank rewards, resources, armor, weapons, and more.

Aeon Soul – Warlock gauntlets

Exotic Perks:

  • Sect of Force temporarily increases player reload speed and weapon swap speed after rapid precision hits. Taking down a champion or boss also gives nearby fireteam members a burst of grenade and melee energy.
  • Sect of Vigor gives the player class energy when teammates die, then gains full class energy after reviving. When nearby players cast their super, allies gain a burst of healing.
  • Sect of Insight has a chance to drop an orb of power after precision weapon takedowns. When using a finisher on an elite enemy, special ammo is dropped. Using a finisher on a boss or miniboss, heavy ammo drops instead.

Regrettably, the Aeon Soul is back on the market barely two weeks since its initial release, yet there appear to be no significant improvements. Therefore, it remains a product that isn’t essential for purchase just yet.

In a past arena known as the Crucible, the One-Eyed Mask has endured multiple adjustments to balance its power. While it remains effective in Player versus Player combat, there are currently superior choices available.

This weekend, the revision of Xur in Year 7 now allows for the offering of several exotic weapons during a single encounter. Here are the exotic items Xur currently carries:

Hawkmoon – Hand Cannon

  • – Final blows and precision hits with Hawkmoon grant stacks of Paracausal Charge. The final round in the magazine deals bonus damage based on the number of stacks. Stowing Hawkmoon on the final round removes this bonus.

The Huckleberry – Submachine Gun

  • – Increases rate of fire and recoil while you’re holding down the trigger. Final blows dealt with this weapon reload the magazine.
  • – Kills with this weapon temporarily grant increased damage. Stacks 3x.

Sunshot – Hand Cannon

  • – This weapon fires explosive rounds and highlights targets that take damage from Sunshot.
  • – Targets defeated with Sunshot explode in Solar energy, scorching other nearby targets.

The Prospector – Grenade Launcher

  • – Grenades spawn cluster bombs upon detonation. Defeating targets creates Arc explosions.
