Destiny 2s Episode Revenant Artifact Perks Are a Double-Edged Sword

As a dedicated Guardian with countless hours spent traversing the cosmos in Destiny 2, I find myself deeply frustrated by the underwhelming performance of the Stasis Subclasses in our beloved game. With years of experience battling against the dark forces that threaten our existence, I can confidently say that these subclasses are falling short compared to their counterparts in the current PvE meta.

On October 8, the Episode “Revenant” for Destiny 2 was released, introducing a fresh narrative and an array of new activities and rewards. The Episode Revenant includes new Artifact perks, primarily enhancing Stasis abilities, making it another ‘Season of Stasis’ for Destiny 2’s gameplay.

It’s pleasant to observe the Revenant Artifact features illuminating Stasis once more, as it’s been suggested that this subclass is somewhat underpowered in Destiny 2 compared to others, due to limited build options. Despite this, Stasis maintains its place in PvP battles within Destiny 2, though it has never managed to keep pace with the endgame PvE meta. However, these Artifact perks are merely a short-term remedy for the ongoing issue of Stasis Subclass falling short in performance compared to other subclasses in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant is the Perfect Time to Use Stasis Builds

In simpler terms, artifact bonuses provide extra benefits to player-created game setups, sometimes even making less popular strategies effective in challenging endgame scenarios. Even though Stasis Subclasses are currently perceived as weak compared to what’s trendy in Destiny 2, the Episode Revenant Artifact perks that primarily boost Stasis Subclass abilities make it an ideal moment for players to experiment with Stasis builds in Destiny 2.

As a gamer, I’ve found an exciting workaround: I can activate certain Stasis Artifact perks using Prismatic Subclass builds, Stasis weapons, or even a combination of both, all without having my character switch to the Stasis Subclass! This opens up a whole new world of strategic possibilities in the game.

Destiny 2’s Stasis Subclasses Still Can’t Compete with the Current PvE Meta

In Destiny 2, the Stasis Subclasses initially introduced the concept of Elemental pickups using Stasis Shards and allowed players to customize their Subclass setup with various Aspects, Fragments, and abilities. However, even though it was innovative at its introduction, Stasis is often perceived as one of the least powerful Subclasses in Destiny 2. The primary issues with Stasis Subclasses mostly revolve around limited build options or survivability.

  • Stasis Subclasses heavily rely on the Tectonic Harvest Aspect to fully utilize Elemental pickups.
  • Stasis Subclasses only have one Super ability.
  • Stasis Subclasses have less grenade and melee abilities compared to the Light Subclasses.

In Destiny 2, the Stasis Subclasses are performing poorly compared to the game’s current meta, which isn’t a fresh problem. However, with the return of Artifact perks boosting Stasis abilities in Episode Revenant, this topic has been brought up again within the Destiny 2 community. Temporarily improving these subclasses with additional Stasis-themed Artifact perks might offer some relief, but it’s clear that a more permanent and significant buff or rework is needed for Destiny 2’s Stasis subclasses to truly shine.
