However, its purpose has evolved since then. With higher-level foes taking considerably longer to take down, infinite ammo has transitioned from being a handy feature to an essential one. It’s no longer just a convenience; it’s now a necessity in the heat of combat.
Destiny 2 Combat Now Requires Endless Firing






In Destiny 2’s Legendary mode, campaign missions can frequently fall into repetitive routines. In Solo Ops and advanced playlists, enemies have oversized health reserves, necessitating multiple rounds to make a dent in their health meters. Notably, bosses, minibosses, and champions delay battles not through tactical maneuvers but by withstanding endless gunfire.
Having endless primary ammunition in Destiny 2 means players can continue playing without interruption, yet it highlights the repetitive nature of combat engagements. If not for this infinite ammo, many of these fights might be almost unplayable. The drops for heavy and special ammo are still limited, and ability cooldowns seldom coordinate with the duration of these battles. Essentially, what remains is a main loop of shooting, reloading, and waiting for enemy numbers to decrease.
In the latest update, version 9.0.0.3, there have been changes made to ammunition distribution that provide players with a greater degree of control. This is achieved by adjusting weapon statistics for scaling, fine-tuning mods, and boosting brick values for specific weapons such as sidearms and swords.
Destiny 2’s Portal Makes Content Easier To Reach
In the latest update for Destiny 2, known as Edge of Fate, a fresh system called The Portal has taken over the role of the traditional Director. This new activity launcher organizes content into categories such as Solo Missions, Team Missions, Elite Missions, PvP mode (Crucible), and more. Additionally, it allows players to quickly access seasonal activities and reprised events directly from a centralized hub.
The advantage is instantaneous. Rather than sifting through a congested cosmic chart, Guardians now zip effortlessly from one task to another. However, this ease of access has raised the bar for each battle encounter to be seamless and immersive. When missions kick off with excitement but gradually turn into protracted endurance tests, the speed of the Portal merely underscores how sluggish the gameplay might seem.
Bungie intends to enlarge the Portal by the end of the year, with the addition of direct raid and dungeon entry options within the user interface.
Destiny 2 Gunplay Suffers From Lack Of Variety

Bungie shared plans to improve the impact of weapon perks in upcoming sandbox modifications and inspire creative tactical loadouts. However, they haven’t specified a timeframe for significant changes in encounters’ design.
To improve upon the continuous ammo issues pointed out by players, Bungie might consider adjusting enemy health scaling in challenging modes and placing more emphasis on intricate enemy behavior and combat mechanics instead. Instead of relying on prolonged battles based on ammo depletion (attrition), encounters should emphasize precision, strategic positioning, and synergy with your subclass. By revamping older missions with new enemy configurations, modifiers, or time-based objectives, Bungie can optimize the usage of primary weapons without overextending damage phases.
Making adjustments to the game design might attract back players who felt disgruntled by repetitive elements, thereby boosting the diminishing player base of “Edge of Fate”. Numerous long-term fans have expressed feelings of exhaustion due to excessive grinding. By revising the method of delivering challenges using intelligent pacing and diverse mechanics, Bungie could reestablish trust with their dedicated fanbase and develop more captivating content in upcoming updates.
