In “Destiny: Rising”, while it bears a strong resemblance to the core series, its gacha mechanics distinguish it from its forerunners. This spin-off offers exclusive Lightbearers to acquire, yet not all are equally enticing to draw compared to others.
In the game ‘Destiny: Rising’, characters, or Lightbearers as they’re called, possess distinct elemental skills and favor specific types of weapons. This makes certain characters more effective in particular game modes. For instance, some characters excel in Player vs Player (PVP) battles, while others shine brighter in Player vs Environment (PVE) scenarios such as strikes and raids. The tier list for ‘Destiny: Rising’ considers both PVE and PVP performances, ranking each Lightbearer based on their effectiveness, from the most powerful to the least effective.
Best Characters in Destiny: Rising, Ranked
These are the strongest Lightbearers in Destiny: Rising.
Tier | Characters |
---|---|
S-Tier | Gwynn, Tan-2 |
A-Tier | Wolf, Attal, Jolder, Ning Fei |
B-Tier | Xuan Wei, Finnala |
C-Tier | Ikora, Kabr |
S-Tier Characters in Destiny: Rising

Top-tier characters stand out as exceptional, boasting skills and weaponry that grant them supremacy in both Player vs Environment (PVE) and Player vs Player (PVP) situations. Acquiring these high-caliber characters can be challenging, as they include rare Lightbearers such as Gwynn, who are occasionally available but demand a significant amount of Lumia Leaves.
Gwynn’s void abilities are incredibly potent in Player versus Environment (PVE), and she poses a significant challenge in Player versus Player (PVP) too. Similarly, Tan-2 demonstrates immense power, dishing out high damage on his own and boosting his allies. In PVP, Tan-2 becomes a force to reckon with when you manage to hit targets with scout rifles or snipers.
A-Tier Characters in Destiny: Rising

Characters classified as A-Tier are among the game’s powerhouses, but they don’t quite match up to S-Tier entities in terms of strength. It’s a joyful experience if you manage to obtain one of these characters through luck, however, keep in mind that there might be slightly superior choices for your preferred play modes.
In the realm of gacha game characters, the Wolf stands out as unusually powerful, boasting a robust Solar kit and an assortment of weapons suitable for both Player vs Environment (PVE) and Player vs Player (PVP) engagements. Similarly, Attal, being a 4-star character, is remarkably strong. Her supportive abilities ensure the survival of your team in challenging PVE situations. Moreover, her collection of hand cannons and linear fusion rifles positions her as a formidable force in PVP matches.
Jolder is an exceptional tank choice within the game, boasting numerous defensive Void abilities that aid your team in both PVE and PVP scenarios. If you can effectively manage her Rage passive, she essentially becomes invincible. Lastly, there’s Ning Fei, who ranks among the best Arc characters in Destiny: Rising. His duplicates make him a formidable presence across all game modes.
B-Tier Characters in Destiny: Rising

Characters of an intermediate level don’t possess anything extraordinary that makes them remarkable. While they’re not poor choices, superior alternatives certainly exist for selection.
Xuan Wei primarily excels in hand-to-hand combat, however, he struggles compared to other Arc users such as Ning Fei. In terms of PVE, his performance is satisfactory, but his abilities are not optimized for Player vs Player (PVP) scenarios.
On the other hand, Finnala is an excellent option for a PVE tank due to her taunt and effective crowd control skills. However, she tends to underperform in PVP unless your team adapts to her aggressive playstyle. Additionally, auto rifles and swords are not ideal weapon combinations for optimal results.
C-Tier Characters in Destiny: Rising

It’s perfectly okay to stick with C-Tier characters, but it would be beneficial to include some Lightbearers in your team to maintain balance. Fortunately, the game offers some of these characters at no cost, making them ideal for new players to familiarize themselves with the game before investing in rarer units.
Ikora is widely admired due to her appearances in the mainline Destiny series, but unfortunately, her equipment isn’t as effective in Destiny: Rising. Her combination of a grenade launcher and rocket launcher lacks versatility (especially in PvP), and she tends to perform best when teamed up with other Lightbearers who possess crowd control abilities or similar debuffs to amplify the power of her explosives.
In PVP (Player vs Player) battles, Kabr struggles significantly. His primary tools are barriers and shields, but these aren’t very effective against skilled opponents in multiplayer matches. Conversely, Kabr shines in PVE (Player vs Environment), where he’s a robust defensive character that works well with various team setups. Unfortunately, some players choose to reroll if they initially pull Kabr, as he might not be their preferred choice for PVP.
