The Brand-New Logo and Special Video
Fondly Looking Back on 30 Years of History
For the 30th anniversary of Detective Conan (Case Closed) anime, the freshly designed logo showcases the main character, Shinichi Kudō (also known as Conan Edogawa). In this depiction, he’s portrayed sitting with one hand and a knee on the ground while proudly holding up a magnifying glass. The ‘0’ in “30” is cleverly incorporated into the tool itself. Gōshō Aoyama’s “Case Closed” has been running in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday since January 1994, making it one of the longest-running manga series ever published. The story revolves around 17-year-old detective prodigy Shinichi Kudō, who assists police in solving a variety of cases. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when he stumbles upon a significant conspiracy involving the criminal group known as the Black Organization. They force-feed him an experimental drug with the intention of ending his life.
Instead, the drug transforms him into the physical condition of an eight-year-old boy. Adopting the pseudonym Conan Edogawa, he conceals his real identity, resides with his childhood companion Ran Mori, who is the daughter of private detective Kogoro Mori, and stays involved in his cases. As Conan, Shinichi assists Kogoro while solving mysteries aided by Dr Agatha, his mentor figure. Simultaneously, he covertly seeks answers about the organization that attempted to end his life. VIZ Media has secured an English publication of the manga under the title “Case Closed“. The anime adaptation of “Detective Conan (Case Closed)” premiered in January 1996, leading to numerous theatrical adaptations, the first one released in 1997.
Detective Conan (Case Closed) is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
