Diablo 4 devs respond as frustrating Greater Affix bug ruins Infernal Hordes

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Diablo 4 Season 5 has been a rollercoaster ride so far. The Infernal Hordes mode is an exciting addition to the game, but the recent bug with Greater Affixes not dropping as promised has left many of us frustrated. It’s not the first time we’ve encountered such issues, and it seems like Season 5 has been one of the worst for bugs yet.

Diablo 4 Season 5 unveiled a fresh end-game experience titled “Infernal Hordes.” One notable feature of this mode is that gamers can obtain an item with a confirmed superior enhancement from the chests that materialize when they are accomplished at elevated World Tiers.

Over the last few days, players have been sharing their findings that no loot from these chests contains superior upgrades (Greater Affixes).

Adam Fletcher, our community leader, stated on X that a solution is imminent for the current issue. However, this news didn’t significantly ease players’ annoyance because this isn’t the only problem they’ve encountered since the start of Season 5.

As a long-time gamer with countless hours spent on various titles, I can empathize with the frustration expressed by this player. It’s disheartening when a game’s launch is met with issues that significantly impact the gaming experience, such as not being able to obtain masterworking materials due to a broken character like Pit. I firmly believe that developers should prioritize having a team prepared to address such problems immediately upon release, ensuring that players can enjoy the new season without unnecessary obstacles. A well-timed hotfix can make all the difference in maintaining player satisfaction and loyalty.

It has. We have a fix coming soon.

Fletcher clarified that the recently discovered Greater Affix glitch emerged following the deployment of the previous update on August 8th. Meanwhile, as you can acquire Masterworking materials from various locations, the immediate concern for them is addressing the Greater Affix bug.

According to Flether’s post, the issue with the GA (General Assemblies) arose following other recent fixes due to a subsequent adjustment. It appears that runeshards aren’t as effective right now because masterworking materials are still being produced by the Infernal Hordes.

While players have given the latest season some praise, it’s undeniably plagued by more bugs than any other season we’ve had so far.

Players are finding it tough to contend with a longstanding issue where Poison is excessively strong, and it’s not just about The Pit failing to yield Masterwork Materials. Another problem players are encountering is that the current health levels of bosses are abnormally high as well.

Additionally, the lack of necessary materials and the ongoing issue with the Greater Affix bug are gradually diminishing the enjoyment that fans are experiencing during Season 5.

So far, Infernal Hordes has been well-received by players, and they’ve found The Pit crucial in endgame play. Players are eagerly anticipating quick resolutions to these issues. Fortunately, it seems that developers are actively working on them. Therefore, fans will need to exercise patience as they wait for the updates to be released.
