Bandai Namco Entertainment unveiled a fresh Trading Card Game titled “Digimon Alysion” during Digimon Con 2025, the fourth annual convention honoring the Digimon franchise. Not only was it confirmed that this game will be accessible on mobile devices, but a new trailer has also been released to whet our appetite.
Among the numerous Digimon games available, some stand out like Digimon Rumble Arena (2001), Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (2016), and Digimon Survive (2022). For Android and iOS users, the franchise offers a total of nine games. The first was Digimon Collectors in 2011, with the latest being Digimon New Century in 2021, exclusively for Chinese players. Now, this collection is set to expand as the tenth official Digimon mobile game has recently been announced.
It’s been announced that the latest addition to the Digimon series, called Alysion, is on its way for both Android and iOS devices, though the specific release date hasn’t been disclosed yet. Previously hinted at as a new trading card game within the Digimon universe, we now have a fresh trailer that gives us a sneak peek into how players can view their collected cards, find opponents, and even catch a glimpse of the screen displaying the cards drawn by the player.
In the video, we also get to see a battlefield design reminiscent of Hearthstone and an inventory section where the player’s Digimon are represented in pixelated graphics.
Digimon Returns to Mobile Devices With Alysion, New Trading Card Game
Bandai Namco Entertainment’s recent announcement reveals that the characters in the upcoming game will be female, unveiling Kanata Hondo, Futre, Valner Dragnogh, and a brand-new Digimon named Gemmon. There are also strong suggestions, though not yet officially confirmed, that the game will incorporate aspects of trading cards, monster-raising, and narrative, similar to Digimon Alysion. Previous knowledge about the game includes it being free-to-play with in-app purchases. Fans looking forward to playing Digimon Alysion will need to exercise patience, as a closed beta is scheduled, with specific details yet to be disclosed at a later time. Gematsu has also reported that new cards and Digimon can be expected in the game.
As fans eagerly anticipate updates about the gameplay and characteristics of Digimon Alysion, another installment of the franchise unveiled fresh details at its yearly conference. Specifically, Digimon Story: Time Stranger has now confirmed three Digimon companions, as well as providing other insights like the game’s narrative, the lineup of characters, and the fact that it will boast a roster of 450 trainable Digimon – making it the most extensive collection in the series to date.
