I’ve been really getting into Digimon Story: Time Stranger, and it’s already grabbed me! The developers aren’t stopping with the main game either – they’ve got a whole DLC plan coming. One of the biggest things I’m learning is how important it is to pick the right Personalities for my Digimon to really get the most out of them.

Best Agent Skills in Digimon Story: Time Stranger

Lesson in Rearing

Start by investing in the ‘Lessons in Rearing’ skill, found within the Bonds of Loyalty tree. It gradually increases the EXP earned by all your Digimon – both in your current party and storage – by 1% for each rank you gain as an agent. While the effect is small at first, it becomes more significant as you progress.

This is especially helpful when you get new Digimon, as it greatly increases their experience gain and helps them become strong team members more quickly.

Cross Art: Strike

Cross Art: Strike is a great first skill to learn. It deals a lot of damage to all enemies, making it especially useful for quickly defeating weaker foes and getting an edge in early boss battles.

At first, your Digimon won’t be strong enough to win battles on their own, so you’ll need to use healing abilities. However, the Cross Art: Strike ability helps you keep up the offensive pressure and avoid falling behind in damage.

Strategic CP Application

Using Cross Arts frequently is a great way to gain an advantage in battle, and the Strategic CP Application helps you do just that. It guarantees you begin each fight with 10 CP for every Agent Rank, letting you activate these powerful abilities right away.

As you gain higher Agent Ranks, you’ll start fights with significantly more CP. This lets you use your Cross Arts skill much sooner, which can either greatly benefit your team with helpful boosts or deal a lot of damage to your opponents, depending on the specific Cross Art you’ve chosen.

Digivolution

Beyond the Bonds of Loyalty skill tree, you’ll find separate trees for Valor, Philanthropy, Amicability, and Wisdom. These trees give bonuses to any Digimon in your party that matches the corresponding personality type. There are many options to choose from, but you should prioritize Digivolution skills first.

Investing in these skills can significantly lower the stats needed to Digivolve, potentially by up to 80% if you max them out. There are five different skill types, each found in a separate skill tree, so be sure to learn them all.
