Okay, so Digimon Story: Time Stranger has a TON of Digimon – over 400, actually! Honestly, figuring out which ones are the best to collect and train is super tough. Luckily, I’m here to give you a hand with that.
Getting the most powerful Digimon involves different strategies, and a Digimon’s personality plays a big role. Some of the strongest Digimon actually start as simple Digi-Eggs.
Best Digimon in Digimon Story: Time Stranger
Chronomon DM & Chronomon HM
Chronomon comes in two versions, DM and HM, and both are incredibly strong choices for any team in Time Stranger. They’re powerful enough to help you overcome any challenge the game throws at you.
You can get Chronomon HM much sooner than Chronomon DM, but it needs Agent Rank 7, while DM requires Rank 10. Getting Chronomon DM also takes a lot of work – you’ll need to learn 46 Agent Skills in different areas.
Focus on getting Chronomon HM first, and then work towards obtaining Chronomon DM later on.
Jupitermon
Unlocking Jupitermon is quite challenging, much like with Chronomon DM. You’ll need to reach Agent Rank 9 and learn at least 46 skills across four specific areas: Bonds of Valor, Philanthropy, Amicability, and Wisdom.
Jupitermon evolves from any of Aegiochusmon’s four variations. Aegiochusmon is a strong Digimon that can be a valuable team member throughout much of the game, but Jupitermon is even more powerful once you obtain it.
Ceresmon
Ceresmon comes in two versions—Ceresmon and Ceresmon Medium—and you can switch between them easily. This flexibility is a major advantage when building a team for battles.
Ceresmon’s bird form excels at defense and recovers quickly, but doesn’t hit very hard. Its medium form, on the other hand, has increased intelligence, making it better at dealing damage. The best form to use depends on what you need Ceresmon to do in your team, and being able to switch between these roles is a major advantage.
Aegiomon
Aegiomon is a central character in Time Stranger’s story and is incredibly powerful, despite starting out seeming relatively weak. As the story unfolds, Aegiomon grows significantly stronger, eventually becoming capable of accomplishing any task on their own.
Although he has the potential to Digivolve into even stronger forms like Aegiochusmon and Jupitermon, it’s not really needed – he’s already powerful enough as he is.
EmperorGreymon
Okay, so I finally unlocked EmperorGreymon! You get it by Digivolving Susanomon once you hit Agent Rank 7. It might not be the *strongest* Digimon out there, but honestly, it’s pretty easy to get compared to some others, which makes it a solid pick for my team. Definitely worth checking out if you’re building a squad!
Firedrake Strike is a powerful fire-based attack unique to EmperorGreymon. It’s especially effective against Digimon vulnerable to fire.
If you’re as hooked on Digimon as I am, you’ll definitely want to check out the best Agent Skills to help you out! I’ve also been wondering how long it takes to actually finish the whole game, so I’m looking into that too.
