As a thrilled gamer here, I’m excited to share that Dimension 20 has unveiled its Season 26 adventure – the steampunk tale of “Cloudward, Ho!” We, the Intrepid Heroes, are front and center in this epic 20-episode journey. Starting June 4, tune in weekly on Dropout to catch each new episode of our Dungeons & Dragons campaign!
Over the past ten years, there’s been a massive increase in the popularity of live-action role-playing games (LARPs) based on “Dungeons & Dragons”. Famous series like “Critical Role” have opened doors for many other productions, including “Dimension 20”, an award-winning LARP series from Dropout (previously CollegeHumor), which is led by comedian Brennan Lee Mulligan.
Currently, Dimension 20 has unveiled the trailer for their 26th live-action role-play series titled “Cloudward, Ho!”. Set in a fresh environment influenced by steampunk aesthetics, airships, and fantastical journeys, this Dungeons & Dragons campaign stars the fearless adventurers – the regular cast of Dimension 20. Mulligan takes on the role of game master while Emily Axford, Ally Beardsley, Brian Murphy, Zac Oyama, Siobhan Thompson, and Lou Wilson play the characters. Comprising 20 episodes, this campaign will make its debut on June 4.
Cloudward, Ho! – Dimension 20’s Steampunk Season 26
- Emily Axford as Marya Junkova
- Ally Beardsley as Olethra MacLeod
- Brian Murphy as Maxwell Gotch
- Zac Oyama as Daisuke Bucklesby
- Siobhan Thompson as Vanellope Chapman
- Lou Wilson as Montgomery LaMontgommery
In terms of the cast, Thomson takes on the role of Vanellope “Van” Champman, a seasoned sky-sailor with a rugged demeanor, while Murphy portrays Maxwell Gotch, an elegant yet athletic nobleman. Axford plays Marya Junkova, a gaunt and haunted woman, Zac Oyama embodies the elderly gunslinger Daisuke Bucklesby, and Lou Wilson is Montgomery LaMontgommery, a burly cowboy. Last but not least, Beardsley’s character, Olethra MacLeod, is an adventurous spirit from a family whose enigmatic legacy seems to be crucial to the narrative of the campaign in this steampunk world. The specific Dungeons and Dragons classes for these characters or the adjustments made to the system to accommodate the steampunk atmosphere have yet to be revealed.
The show titled “Cloudward, Ho!” premieres exclusively on Dimension 20‘s Dropout streaming service on June 4 at 4 PM PT. However, the first episode will be accessible on YouTube starting June 11. If you’re eager to watch the remaining episodes, they’ll be available weekly on Dropout every Wednesday, with accompanying Adventuring Party discussion episodes released the following Thursday. Around August 13 (approximately halfway through the series), there will be a one-week break before airing a recap episode. After this brief hiatus, it will resume its regular schedule.
At present, we don’t have any details about Season 27 of Dimension 20. Since Cloudward, Ho! won’t wrap up until mid-October, there’s no need for fans to worry about the next season for quite a while. Until then, they can catch the Gauntlet at the Garden live show on Dropout, which is currently airing from the Dimension 20 live show in New York. The Battle at the Bowl live show in Hollywood is set for June 1, with the video-on-demand version expected to arrive on the streaming service soon after.
