Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 released on GOG

GOG is sharing the news that starting today, they’ve made available the originals of Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 on their platform, and are eager to hear from fans about what they would like to see next.

The retailer states: “Games from the past are becoming hard to find – it’s undeniable. As per the Video Game History Foundation, approximately 87% of all games produced before 2010 are no longer accessible now. Recently, we introduced the GOG Preservation Program to safeguard as many games as possible, and today, we’re taking additional measures to ensure these classic games remain playable for eternity!

GOG announces: “We’re thrilled to introduce the unique original Dino Crisis game, along with its sequel, to GOG! These timeless games are now ready for play on modern PCs. As with all classic games on GOG, they are free of Digital Rights Management (DRM) and their original content remains intact. Both games will be available through our GOG Preservation Program, which means they have been equipped with quality-of-life improvements and adjusted to run smoothly on current and future systems.

Capcom’s Dino Crisis has made a significant impact on the survival horror genre by delivering an intense atmosphere and dinosaur-infused tension, solidifying its status as a timeless classic. The original game now supports Windows 10/11 operating systems and offers various modes such as Original, Arrange, and PC-exclusive Operation Wipe Out. Updates include improved DirectX rendering for better graphics, support for high resolutions like 4K, compatibility with modern controllers, and fixes for stability, transparency, and save issues. Additionally, new options like V-Sync, Gamma Correction, and Anti-Aliasing have been added to enhance the overall gaming experience.

The company encourages its fans to share their wishes for future projects by maintaining a “Community Wishlist” which has been updated as the “GOG Dreamlist”. They express that this platform allows your preferences to guide actions, stating: “Tell us what’s important to you, and we strive to bring it to life. Every vote serves as a catalyst, encouraging publishers to take action. The fresh design makes it simpler than ever before to advocate for your favorites and ensure your voice is heard – because we firmly believe that united, we can preserve the classics.

Dino Crisis and its sequel are now available on GOG. The original game is £8.99.
