GOG has just added the classic games Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 to its store and is now asking fans what other titles they’d like to see.
The retailer acknowledges that older games are becoming increasingly hard to find – in fact, the Video Game History Foundation estimates that 87% of games from before 2010 are now lost. To combat this, the retailer recently started the GOG Preservation Program to safeguard as many games as possible, and is now expanding those efforts to ensure these games remain playable for the future.
GOG is thrilled to add both the original Dino Crisis and its sequel to its library! Now available on modern PCs, these classic games are DRM-free and include all their original content. As part of the GOG Preservation Program, they’ve also been updated to run smoothly on current and future systems, with various improvements to enhance the player experience.
There’s a three minute “story” style video available to watch, too, below:
Capcom’s Dino Crisis is a beloved classic that really shaped the survival horror genre with its thrilling dinosaur action and suspenseful setting. The original game now works on Windows 10 and 11, and includes three modes: Original, Arrange, and the PC-exclusive Operation Wipe Out. It’s been updated with improved graphics (including support for resolutions up to 4K), compatibility with modern controllers, and fixes for various technical issues like crashes, transparency problems, and save errors. Players can also enjoy new features like V-Sync, Gamma Correction, and Anti-Aliasing for a smoother, more polished experience.
The company is asking fans what games they’d like to see next and has rebranded its community suggestion platform as the “GOG Dreamlist.” They explain that it’s a place to share your favorite games and help make them available again. Every vote encourages publishers to bring classics to the platform, and a new design makes it even easier to support the games you love and ensure your voice is heard. The company believes that by working together, they can keep classic games alive.
Dino Crisis and its sequel are now available on GOG. The original game is £8.99.
