As a long-time gamer and football fan, I’ve always been intrigued by the intersection of traditional sports and esports. And the latest development in this space is Diogo Jota’s entry into Counter-Strike esports with his organization Luna Galaxy.
Football players’ involvement in esports is becoming more commonplace: From David Beckham’s role as an ambassador for Guild Esports to Sergio Aguero’s establishment of KRU, top athletes are increasingly engaged in the esports world. In a recent conversation with Robert Lewandowski, I gained valuable insights into the connection between traditional sports and esports.
Diogo Jota’s manager has revealed that the Liverpool footballer intends to form a Counter-Strike team. This team would presumably operate under Luna Galaxy, the esports organization previously founded by Jota himself.
The Next Step
As a gamer, I’m part of Diogo Jota’s esports organization, Luna Galaxy. We’ve made our mark in several games like Rocket League and EA Sports FC. But there’s a new contender on the horizon that has my attention – Counter-Strike 2. I recently had the opportunity to check out the Esports World Cup final for this game, where G2 Esports battled it out against Natus Vincere. Counter-Strike 2 could be our next venture, and I’m excited to see what lies ahead in this thrilling and competitive scene.
During a brief conversation with one of his managers, it came up that Jota doesn’t personally participate in CS2 but intends to form a team for the competition.
“Although he doesn’t compete in CS2, he intends to form a team.” (Note: CS2 refers to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive) For the second part of the sentence, you could simply say “He is the founder of LunaGalaxy_gg” or “LunaGalaxy_gg is led by him.”

Counter-Strike, which is widely acknowledged as the leading game in esports, boasts a vast and thriving ecosystem with enormous annual investments amounting to tens of millions of dollars. Given its prominent position in the gaming world, it’s only natural that Jota would be intrigued by the opportunity to join this dynamic scene.
