The Gamescom LATAM 2025 Grand Event has unveiled a list of finalists featuring 90 video games from various regions worldwide. Following the triumphant 2024 edition, the upcoming Gamescom LATAM 2025 promises to draw an even larger crowd.

2024 saw Gamescom LATAM garnering acclaim for its well-organized event and being the first to merge a convention with the BIG Festival. As the biggest independent game festival in Latin America, Gamescom LATAM BIG Festival recognizes some of the year’s top international indie games and allows attendees to play them hands-on. Notably, it showcases major AAA titles on its exhibition floor, featuring exhibits like “Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree” and “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” last year. Now, Gamescom LATAM BIG Festival has unveiled the finalists for its upcoming 2025 lineup.

At the 2025 Gamescom LATAM BIG Festival, it’s been confirmed that 90 video games have been chosen to compete for more than 17 distinct awards. A record-breaking total of 962 games from 71 countries applied for this year’s competition, as reported by Gamescom LATAM. Among the finalists, 32 hail from Latin America, with 19 from Brazil, 6 from Argentina, 4 from Mexico, and one each from Colombia, Costa Rica, and Uruguay. Gustavo Steinberg, founder of the BIG Festival and CEO of Gamescom LATAM, commented on this significant participation: “The thriving independent video game industry worldwide, especially in Latin America, is demonstrated by this remarkable involvement.

During the five-day period of the event, the finalists will be showcased, and the awards ceremonies will occur on two separate days: April 30 and May 4. The initial ceremony on April 30 will feature categories such as Best Game, Best Game from Brazil, and Best Game from Latin America. Each award carries a cash prize of approximately US$860 (R$5,000). The second ceremony on May 4 will reveal the winner of the Best Game: Popular Vote award along with other honors. It is noteworthy that Gamescom LATAM previously named “Chants of Sennaar” as its Game of the Year in 2021, and the 2025 event will return to São Paulo, Brazil.
