Summary
- Hawkeye gives fans a grounded, action-filled series with new characters, like Kate Bishop.

- Daredevil remains a beloved series with intense potential and well-crafted storytelling.
In Phase 4 of the Marvel Universe, fans witnessed an expansion and interconnection of the cinematic world as new shows were introduced, bridging gaps between older movies and TV series to enrich the overall narrative. Eager to attract more viewers, Disney+ swiftly made these Marvel series accessible on their streaming platform, with a variety of shows available through their app. This lineup included fan favorites like Daredevil.
Despite the abundance of series on Disney+ being overwhelming for some viewers, many Marvel fans have praised these series as exceptional means of delving deeper into characters and particular aspects of the Marvel universe. Among these series, some have outshone others, either due to the anticipation leading up to their release or the high-quality content presented within them.
10. Hawkeye
Featuring the Avenger and His Newest Protégé
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), an underappreciated Avenger at long last gets his own television series. Although it’s not a film, this show offers fans an in-depth exploration of the characters Hawkeye and Kate Bishop. The series “Hawkeye” immerses viewers in a gritty, action-packed, and tension-filled storyline that unfolds amidst the city streets of New York.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Wilson Fisk, often referred to as The Kingpin, takes center stage in the show “Hawkeye” as the main antagonist and crime lord. Simultaneously, Echo is introduced in this series, who also stars in her own program. This street-level production serves as a shift back to more grounded themes during Phase 4 of the MCU storyline.
9. Moon Knight
The Live-Action Debut of The Hand of Knonshu
As a fervent admirer, I eagerly awaited the arrival of Moon Knight in the Marvel cinematic universe, given his status as an origin story for one of our beloved heroes. This street-level hero has been cherished by fans for quite some time now, and seeing him brought to life on screen was a long-awaited dream come true.
The show, titled “Moon Knight,” chronicles the adventures of Steven Grant and his alter ego, Marc Spector, as they take on villains under the guidance of Khonshu. With its captivating themes, a stellar portrayal by Oscar Issac, and gritty, intense action sequences, Moon Knight solidified its position as one of the finest Marvel series streaming on Disney+.
8. Luke Cage
Fighting Crime in Harlem
Luke Cage initially premiered as one of the initial Marvel series on the streaming platform, Netflix. Now accessible on Disney+, all series falling under the Defenders Saga have been incorporated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In the series Luke Cage, set after season 1 of Jessica Jones, Luke becomes entangled in a web of crime within his neighborhood in New York City.
Characters such as Cottonmouth and Mariah make their appearances as antagonists in the valiant struggle of Luke Cage, much like how they do in other Netflix Marvel series. Just like its counterparts, Luke Cage is gritty, authentic, and uncompromisingly bold.
7. Jessica Jones
Investigative Crime Thriller with Superhero Elements
Jessica Jones debuted as the second Marvel series on Netflix, following closely behind the first season of Daredevil. This show further explores the gritty urban landscape of New York City that serves as the setting for Daredevil and other Netflix Marvel productions.
In her show, Jessica Jones operates independently as a detective and encounters formidable adversaries like Kilgrave and Foolkiller. Jessica Jones is deeply introspective, excels in its realistic storytelling, and delivers a gripping psychological journey as the plot unfolds.
6. Falcon and the Winter Soldier
An Imperfect Duo Attempting to Follow in Steve Rodgers’ Footsteps
The upcoming buddy cop-style series, “Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” has been one of the most acclaimed Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) shows to debut on Disney+. Similar to “Hawkeye,” this series steers clear of the multiverse storyline and focuses solely on Earth, where it delves into terrorist conspiracies and Sam Wilson’s personal struggles as he strives to assume the role of Captain America.
In simpler terms, the show is built around compelling societal issues and delivers gripping narratives. Add to that impressive action sequences and a richly diverse cast, and it becomes a can’t-miss addition to Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
5. Ms. Marvel
An Origin Series Filled with Heart
In one of the most acclaimed Marvel productions to date, the series “Ms. Marvel” introduces Kamala Khan to live-action, presenting a fresh take on her origin. Although some alterations have been made to the character, “Ms. Marvel” remains compelling viewing with an emotionally resonant plotline and well-crafted characters.
In this series, Kamala Khan explores her family background while battling numerous adversaries who endanger her friends, loved ones, and their city. Known as Ms. Marvel, the character’s storyline also acts as a precursor to the upcoming film, The Marvels, which follows directly after the events of Ms. Marvel’s season 1.
4. The Punisher
Brutal, Dark, and Unforgiving
Following his debut in season 2 of Daredevil, Netflix chose to delve deeper into the Marvel live-action universe by giving this complex character a standalone TV series. Known as The Punisher, the show picks up directly after the events of Daredevil season 2 and focuses on Frank Castle as more details about his family’s tragic attack are revealed.
Additionally, Frank assumes ownership of his designated vigilante alias, “The Punisher.” Much like Daredevil, he exhibits a sinister edge, yet The Punisher stands out due to his tendency towards violence. His approach involves taking the lives of his adversaries, a choice that underscores his dark nature.
3. Wandavision
A Nostalgic and Enthralling Delve into Wanda’s Powers
As a devoted Marvel fan, Phase 4 truly delivered with a wealth of fresh content, including their first series – the captivating and enigmatic “Wandavision.” This show stirred a whirlwind of excitement among us fans, leaving us guessing about the true nature of Scarlet Witch’s predicament. Each episode was a treasure trove of intrigue that had us on the edge of our seats. The popularity of “Wandavision” was such that viewers couldn’t get enough, constantly dissecting every scene for hidden clues. Creative minds online even started uncovering Easter eggs hinted in each scene, sparking the famous ‘Mephisto’ theory.
Over the course of each episode, the show “Wandavision” mirrors classic sitcoms and doesn’t fully address questions until the conclusion of the series. This captivating and remarkable series is highly recommended to watch before seeing “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness“.
2. Daredevil
Crime-Fighting in Hell’s Kitchen with Law and Violence
Upon its debut, Marvel enthusiasts were initially hesitant about Daredevil. However, the initial Netflix Marvel production effectively demonstrated that street-level television shows harbored great potential. Today, Daredevil stands among the finest superhero series ever created. Its exceptional casting, captivating acting, intricate plots, formidable villains, compelling narrative structure, and other components have earned it a cherished place in fans’ hearts.
In a thrilling twist, I, as a devoted movie enthusiast, found myself witnessing the much-adored character from Daredevil stepping onto the Marvel Cinematic Universe stage once more, making his comeback in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter’s legal counsel. This action-packed series is renowned for its impeccable one-take fight sequences and unavoidably catastrophic events, a testament to its raw, gritty style.
1. Loki
A Series about Glorious Purpose
Among the Marvel Cinematic Universe series that have graced our screens, none has been as warmly embraced as Loki. Following his daring escape with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame, this captivating show finds Loki being apprehended by the Time Variance Authority (TVA). The narrative then unfolds, with Loki working tirelessly to thwart perils menacing the fabric of time itself.
Season 2 of the series “Loki” delves deeper into Loki’s narrative and his influence in the universe, utilizing the concept of the multiverse while maintaining a strong emotional core. For any Marvel enthusiast, this show is truly remarkable.
