Summary
- Planets in Stanton system offer diverse options for starting locations, each with unique benefits and gameplay opportunities.
- Stanton is a hub of business and industry, while Pyro remains lawless and dangerous for players due to the pirate threat.
- Updated content in Alpha 4.1 introduces new quest-givers and mining profession overhauls, impacting starting location choices.
In Star Citizen, players can venture out to distinct planets within the star system for discovery and new location finding. Initially, before diving into gameplay, a starting base must be selected where characters will appear at the start of each gaming session. Among the 7 choices available, each offers unique advantages and drawbacks. Ultimately, the choice of which one to call home lies with the player.
In the expansive universe of Stanton, each planet is under the control of major corporations such as microTech, Crusader, ArcCorp, and Hurston Dynamics. This makes Stanton a hub for commerce and industry within the UEE territories. On the other hand, Pyro serves as a lawless and deserted system, offering no protection from pirates and raiders to those who venture there.
With the arrival of personal garages, starting points in the game have transformed into more significant locations. Now, players can pick where they want to establish their customizable garage, which results in them frequently hanging out in that specific region of the cosmos.
7. Ruin Station
Pyro

Unlike Stanton, which boasts bustling cities, Pyro offers larger, abandoned space stations as starting points. Those opting for Pyro as their base can anticipate an exciting gameplay experience characterized by higher risks and potentially greater rewards.
In the game Pyro, player-versus-player (PvP) encounters are unavoidable, but it also offers fantastic possibilities for miners and fans of first-person shooter (FPS) missions. The starting point called Ruin Station is situated at a significant distance from the Stanton Jump Point, making it challenging for cargo haulers to travel between star systems regularly. However, it’s advantageously located near Terminus, an excellent trading planet.
Just like other Pyro starting points, Ruin Station includes a zone of contention, along with a vehicle dealership and an armory for weapon purchases.
6. Lorville
Hurston, Stanton

As a space enthusiast, I find myself drawn to Hurston, the heart of its stellar system. This strategic position offers swift and effortless travel to other celestial bodies upon exiting its atmosphere. The gritty, industrial aesthetic lends Lorville an eerie, dystopian vibe that’s hard to ignore.
As a gamer, I can’t wait to explore the bustling city of Lorville in Star Citizen! Known for its top-notch dealership, this place offers an incredible selection of ships and ground vehicles from various brands. Brands like Aegis, Drake, Misc, Origin, and Tumbril are just a few you’ll find there. It’s the perfect spot for any space traveler looking to upgrade their ride!
Just like MicroTech, I find Hurston to be an exciting locale, teeming with bunkers and distribution centers that offer fantastic opportunities for on-foot missions and first-person shooter (FPS) gameplay. What’s more, its proximity to other planets and the Pyro Jumppoint makes it a strategic starting point for cargo haulers like myself.
5. Orbituary
Pyro

Right beside Bloom, Orbituary serves as a preferred launch pad for numerous Pyro dwellers. Unlike other spots in Pyro, it doesn’t boast any additional perks, but its proximity to Bloom makes it an attractive choice for many residents.
On the stellar map of Pyro, Bloom stands out as the most enchanting planet, rich in exploitable minerals along with strategic outposts and trade locations. This multi-faceted gem makes Bloom an appealing choice for a diverse group of adventurers, which contributes to Orbituary’s enduring popularity.
4. New Babbage
MicroTech, Stanton

In the outskirts of the system lies New Babbage, a bustling city offering an array of shopping destinations to cater to most player requirements. The central common area within the city provides essential amenities, while the assorted stores offer weapons, armor, ship modules, and mining equipment for players’ spacecrafts.
In New Babbage, you’ll find Ghost Hollow – an engaging PvPvE activity that can yield a substantial amount of income quickly. This vibrant world is also filled with numerous foot-traffic missions thanks to the many bunkers and distribution centers scattered throughout.
In the new town of New Babbage, you won’t find any dealerships nearby, and it lies quite a distance from the Pyro Jumppoint. This could be a drawback since it means having to travel further and not having immediate access to dealerships. However, there’s a silver lining: players starting in New Babbage will receive an elegant Aeroview Hangar upon their arrival.
3. Orison
Crusader, Stanton

In the Stanton system, Crusader serves as the biggest planet. Atop this colossal gas giant lies Orison, its primary settlement, which floats rather than being grounded like other cities. Instead of relying on ground vehicles such as HoverQuads, you’ll find that they are unnecessary here due to the floating nature of the city. The city appears to orbit the planet to maintain its position. The landing zone in Orison is a sight to behold, particularly during sunset or sunrise.
In a casual, understandable manner: Crusader could be an ideal place for both miners and lawbreakers. Notably, GrimHex, a hub of criminal activity within Stanton, is situated quite near Crusader. This makes it an excellent starting point for anyone with a leaning towards illegal activities in this star system.
Beyond that, the Crusader’s moon of Daymar provides a suitable spot for ROC mining and manual mining. This lunar body is rich with numerous sand caves containing minerals. With the arrival of Alpha 4.1, Daymar has also become home to Valakkars, the massive sandworms known from Star Citizen universe.
2. Checkmate
Pyro

In simple terms, Checkmate is strategically situated near both the heart of the Pyro and the Stanton JumpPoint. This makes it an ideal starting point for both freight transporters and bounty hunters since they essentially find themselves centrally located within the system, ensuring almost equal distance to every potential destination or target in Pyro.
Regarding the space station characteristics, there’s no discernible distinction among Checkmate, Ruin Station, or Orbituary. Yet, miners might find Checkmate particularly advantageous due to its proximity to Monox, Bloom, and Pyro 1 – all of which are rich in ore resources.
1. Area 18
ArcCorp, Stanton

In ArcCorp, your starting point is right next to shops selling weapons, armor, and clothes, offering a handy setup as you embark on extended journeys. Plus, the bustling marketplace is just a brief stroll away, perfect for gamers who frequently engage in this particular gameplay sequence.
Should a miner prefer Crusader’s moon as the ideal location for Resource Operations Corporation (ROC) and hand mining, they would be equally captivated by ArcCorp’s moon, Lyria, within Stanton system. Known for its abundant wealth, Lyria is one of the universe’s richest spots for mining Quantanium, a valuable mineral.

Individuals who possess the Drake Golem, Misc Prospector, or Argo Mole are likely to gain more advantages in Area 18 compared to other players.
The primary concern about ArcCorp is its complex, labyrinthine design, which might be off-putting for newcomers, potentially discouraging them from exploring Area 18. However, with time and experience, players can become accustomed to the city’s intricacies and appreciate its small details and breathtaking skyline, created by the game engine’s capabilities.
To clarify, ArcCorp serves as a base for the Astro Armada dealership, where you can purchase various Anvil Aerospace models and alien-made brands. Notably, this location hosts the Invictus Launch Week expo annually, typically starting in mid-spring.
