Since its launch in 2022, Disney Dreamlight Valley has been hosting holiday-themed events regularly. These range from Halloween trick-or-treating to wintery gift exchanges. In addition to unique holiday-themed presents for these events, the game also offers new holiday-themed items as part of the Star Path during each season. Unlike smaller updates throughout the gaming season, Disney Dreamlight Valley typically rolls out larger updates in anticipation of a new season. To enhance the holiday spirit even more, Disney Dreamlight Valley might consider introducing an event specifically dedicated to one popular celebration.

There’s been a similar celebration celebrated before in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Given that some related items are already included in the game, it seems entirely logical for Disney Dreamlight Valley to develop this celebration into a more comprehensive event or festival.

Ring in the New Year in Disney Dreamlight Valley

On the first day of the New Year, the game Disney Dreamlight Valley introduced a special bundle in its Premium Shop to mark 2025. Named the New Year Celebration Bundle, it features a Party Confetti Machine, a Party Photo Backdrop, a Party Disco Ball, and a Neon Sign shaped like Mickey Mouse’s symbol. Players can place these decorative items wherever they prefer throughout the Valley or on the game’s new Floating Islands to set up their own makeshift New Year celebration.

One standout feature of New Year’s festivities everywhere is the dazzling display of fireworks. Luckily for those eager to welcome the new year, Disney Dreamlight Valley includes a few firework items within its gameplay. The most conspicuous among them is the Fireworks Mount, introduced as part of the A Rift in Time expansion in Disney Dreamlight Valley. This craftable piece of furniture belongs to the Eternity Isle Crafting and Furniture Sets Collections.

During the Night Show Star Path event, those who bought the Premium Rewards track could collect Stage Fireworks. These Tier 4 items are interactive, causing a small fireworks display that works both indoors and outdoors. If you missed the Night Show Star Path or don’t own the Rift in Time expansion, you can get a Fireworks Display from Scrooge McDuck by spending 1,200 Moonstones at the Premium Shop instead.

Instead of presenting the New Year Celebration Bundle and Disney Dreamlight Valley’s firework items as a way for players to celebrate the new year within their beloved simulation game, this approach seems somewhat underwhelming compared to other holiday events in the game. Notably, the New Year Celebration Bundle was released after New Year’s Eve, which is when such celebrations typically occur. On a positive note, another popular simulation game could provide inspiration for an upcoming New Year’s Eve event within Disney Dreamlight Valley, courtesy of Gameloft and Disney.

Animal Crossing’s Fireworks Show Could Inspire Disney Dreamlight Valley’s New Year’s Celebrations

In Animal Crossing, while the Fireworks Show isn’t strictly limited to New Year’s celebrations, it could serve as an inspiring blueprint for Disney Dreamlight Valley. The Fireworks Festival has been a cherished tradition in Animal Crossing since its debut, with fireworks bursting in the town every Saturday throughout August.

In the world of “Animal Crossing,” the Fireworks Festival has consistently been a summer celebration. Interestingly, this game also launches fireworks at the conclusion of its New Year’s Eve countdown. Similarly to “Animal Crossing,” “Disney Dreamlight Valley” mirrors the player’s real-world time. Releasing fireworks at midnight on New Year’s Day serves as a subtle yet impactful way to mark the beginning of a new year, adding a touch of realism and enriching the holiday experience within the game.

If Disney Dreamlight Valley aspired to mirror Animal Crossing, Scrooge might assume the role typically filled by Redd during the Fireworks Show. Players could discover Scrooge peddling fireworks, enabling them to set these off synchronously with the pre-programmed firework displays at midnight.
