Disney Lorcana’s 2026 Roadmap Explained

Disney Lorcana has quickly become a popular trading card game, and 2026 promises to be even bigger! The release schedule is full of exciting new sets, each with unique themes, fresh gameplay ideas, and expansions focused on beloved Disney characters. We can look forward to everything from holiday-themed cards (even a belated Christmas set!) to sets based on Pixar movies and classic Disney stories, all of which will strengthen Lorcana’s position as a leading TCG.

Disney Lorcana has become very popular since it launched, quickly gaining fans among both Disney lovers and trading card game players. Some of its gameplay is even being compared to Magic: The Gathering. While some players weren’t thrilled with the recent changes to the game’s format, Ravensburger plans to continue releasing four new sets each year, and 2026 promises a lot of new content, starting this February.

Winterspell – February 20, 2026

Get ready for some winter fun with the new Winterspell card set, arriving on February 20th! Even though it’s after the holidays, it’s full of cozy winter charm – especially if you enjoyed the snowy look of the Lorcana cards. Both collectors and players will find these cards add a special touch to building and playing their decks.

What’s Inside Disney Lorcana’s Winterspell Set?

Winterspell’s main draw is its charming, winter-themed versions of beloved Disney characters. You’ll find Mickey Mouse sporting a cool new look as a snowboarder – he’s sure to be popular! Willie the Giant will also appear in a frosty style, and Jiminy Cricket will add a bit of playful magic to the winter setting. The card set includes designs inspired by Mickey’s Christmas Carol, and excitingly, introduces characters from Darkwing Duck, Fox and the Hound, and Pocahontas to the game for the very first time, along with Angel from Lilo & Stitch.

What to Expect From Disney Lorcana’s Meta After Winterspell Launches

Currently, Amber is looking strong thanks to new cards like Pocahontas, Peacekeeper, and Ohana Means Family, which make it harder for opponents to challenge your characters or punish them for trying. Amethyst remains a top color, especially with Winterspell, and benefits from excellent cards such as Marshmallow, Cranky Climber, and Tinker Bell, Snowflake Collector. Emerald has some good additions like White Rabbit and Late Again, but isn’t considered a top-tier color yet, though that could change as more cards are released. Ruby’s new cards often focus on locations, which aren’t usually very effective, but some powerful Darkwing Duck cards, combined with the recent Gargoyles cards, could make a Ruby/Steel deck viable. Sapphire has a standout card in Moana, Curious Explorer, which lets you retrieve cards from your discard pile, making it easier to build up your resources. Finally, Steel is performing well with cards that focus on challenging opponents and dealing damage, particularly in Winterspell.

Scrooge McDuck Gift Box – March 13, 2026

Following the festive Winterspell holiday set, Lorcana is releasing a special collector’s item on March 13th: The Scrooge McDuck Gift Box. It’s perfect for any fan of the famous Disney character! This box doesn’t come with a new set of cards, but it includes unique items that collectors will want to get quickly. The biggest draw is an exclusive, shiny Glimmer Foil version of the Scrooge McDuck, S.H.U.S.H. Agent card.

Wilds Unknown – May 15, 2026

Get ready for something new! The next Lorcana set, Wilds Unknown, launching May 15th, is a big step forward for the game. It’s all about Pixar, featuring beloved characters from Toy Story and The Incredibles. If you’ve been waiting to collect Woody and Buzz as cards, you’re in luck! Details are still limited, which fits the set’s mysterious name perfectly.

What’s Inside Disney Lorcana’s Wilds Unknown?

Woody and Buzz Lightyear will be the main characters featured in this set, which is fitting considering how famous they are in Disney’s history. But the fun doesn’t stop with Toy Story! Characters from The Incredibles – Mrs. Incredible and Jack-Jack, and likely the whole family – will also be included. In addition to the main set, Wilds Unknown is releasing Prelease Kits with a promo card, dice, booster packs, and a deck box. However, the highlight is the 2-Player Starter Set, ideal for both newcomers and anyone wanting to share Lorcana with a friend. It comes with ready-to-play decks, tokens, and trackers, so everyone can jump right into the game.

Attack of the Vine – Q3 2026

The next chapter in the Lorcana trading card game, Attack of the Vine, is coming in late 2026 and will introduce characters from Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. and Turning Red. While we don’t have all the details yet, we know to expect cards featuring favorites like Mike Wazowski, Sulley, and Mei Lee. This set will combine the lighthearted fun of these beloved Pixar movies with their touching stories, and it’s exciting to think about how those themes will be reflected in the game’s mechanics.

Coco – Q4 2026

As the year ends, the world of Disney’s Coco will be joining Lorcana. This new set will likely include characters like Miguel and Hector, and feature the beautiful imagery from the movie. Popular songs like “Remember Me” could even become powerful cards in the game. While details are scarce, this set could follow a similar pattern to how the characters and songs from Encanto were incorporated into previous Lorcana releases.
