Now, the world of Pixar racing is the latest addition to this Disney crossover game.
Season 18 of Disney Speedstorm added the world of Cars to the game! Players can now race as Lightning McQueen, Mater, and Cruz Ramirez, and compete on a brand-new track based on Radiator Springs, featuring famous locations from the Cars movies. However, adding Lightning McQueen to the game wasn’t without some unexpected issues and discussion among players.

They noticed some oddities around where Lightning McQueen and Mater were meeting, and it made them wonder if Gameloft had used AI to help create the image. The biggest mistake was on Lightning’s car – his number was 94 instead of his usual 95! The user eventually walked back the idea that the whole thing was AI-generated, but they’re still questioning whether the game is following Steam’s rules about letting players know when AI art is used.

To coincide with the release of Pixar’s Hoppers, the film’s main character, Mabel, will be added to the game in March. Season 18 will also bring a Big Hero 6 update, introducing Go Go Tomago as a playable character and a brand-new track based on San Fransokyo. Despite a few challenges, the new Piston Cup season is shaping up to be thrilling for Disney Speedstorm fans.
