As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the news about Disney wanting more Indiana Jones games after the success of The Great Circle is music to my ears! Having grown up on the classic movies and being a fan since the very beginning, it’s thrilling to see the franchise make a comeback in such an exciting way.

The Order of Giants DLC taking Indy to Vatican City sounds like an adventure straight out of a movie script. And the fact that they’re offering first-person gameplay with third-person cutscenes? That’s the cherry on top!

I can already imagine myself, whip in hand, navigating through ancient ruins and solving mind-bending puzzles. It feels like a dream come true, and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!

Oh, and let me tell you a little joke: Why did Indiana Jones bring a ladder to the Vatican? Because he heard there were some high priests up there!

Despite only being released a little over a month ago, it appears that Disney, the rights holder for Indiana Jones, is satisfied with the work produced by Machine Games and are eager for more content in the same vein.

Indiana Jones: The Great Circle launched for Xbox Series X|S and PC on December 9, 2024, and has been praised by many as one of the standout games of the year. On Open Critic, it boasts an impressive “Mighty” rating with over 94% of critics giving it a thumbs-up recommendation.

Disney Reportedly Called To Say They Want More Indiana Jones Games

In the recent episode of the Xbox Two podcast (through Games Radar), trusted Microsoft leaker Jez Corden indicated that he’s heard Disney is expressing enthusiasm about wanting more Indiana Jones stories. This latest rumor from Disney suggests a continuation of the Indiana Jones saga, following Douglas Reilly, the Vice President and General Manager of Lucasfilm Games, who has also shown interest in creating additional adventures involving the iconic character known for his whip-cracking exploits.

As a dedicated fan, I eagerly anticipate the upcoming DLC from Machine Games entitled “The Order of Giants.” Although an official sequel announcement is yet to come, this premium expansion promises an exciting journey for Indie as he explores Vatican City and uncovers some of the enigmatic myths and buried history of ancient Rome.

To date, Microsoft hasn’t disclosed the sales figures for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, however, sales tracking company Circana reported that it was the runner-up in terms of weekly sales during the week ending on December 14, just behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

If you haven’t yet experienced Indie’s first action game produced by Bethesda, our sister site Game Rant provides a comprehensive review. They mention that “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” contains aspects reminiscent of Spielberg films. The puzzles are particularly noteworthy, the narrative suits the kind of adventure only Indiana Jones would embark on, and it benefits from some impressive performances by its actors. Although the combat and stealth could be improved, the overall presentation is robust enough that fans will enjoy immersing themselves in the storyline with Indy’s iconic hat and whip.

In the upcoming schedule for Machine Games, they plan to debut the PS5 edition of their action-adventure game on PlayStation 5. This launch is anticipated in Spring 2025.
