As a huge fan of Disneyland and the Haunted Mansion attraction in particular, I eagerly await the return of Haunted Mansion Holiday each year. The transformation of the classic Haunted Mansion into a spooktacular holiday experience featuring Jack Skellington and his Nightmare Before Christmas friends is always a highlight of my annual visits to the park.
The Haunted Mansion is a renowned attraction at Disney’s parks, boasting distinctive variations of the ride in each location. Notably, Disneyland California enhances the Haunted Mansion experience during the holidays, converting it into Haunted Mansion Holiday. This enchanting version showcases characters and settings from the popular Halloween film “Nightmare Before Christmas.” Although the Haunted Mansion has been under renovation since January, there are whispers that Haunted Mansion Holiday might reopen ahead of schedule this upcoming weekend.
During the autumn and holiday seasons at Disneyland, The Haunted Mansion Holiday replaces the original Haunted Mansion attraction. This occurs approximately from August to late January or early February. Regrettably, this means that visitors can experience the classic Haunted Mansion ride for only about half a year. Last year, it was disclosed that the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland would be shut down for a significant part of this year in order to enhance the queue area and boost immersion in the mansion’s courtyard. Furthermore, there have been whispers suggesting potential alterations within the ride itself, such as eliminating the controversial hanging man scene at the attraction’s start.
As a long-time Disneyland enthusiast and someone who eagerly anticipates every new holiday experience at the park, I’m thrilled by the recent rumors suggesting that the Haunted Mansion may reopen this weekend. The thought of being among the first guests to enjoy the Haunted Mansion Holiday during the summer months is an exciting prospect.
Haunted Mansion Could Reopen As Early As This Weekend
While the supposed July 26 reopening date for the attraction is unverified, Disney has yet to make an official announcement or confirmation. Thus, the reopening status remains subject to change. Previously, Disney disclosed that guests would only be able to access the attraction through a virtual queue system, such as Genie+, instead of using the currently closed standby line. This will mark another implementation of Disney’s virtual queue system, which debuted with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in 2019.
If Haunted Mansion Holiday is set to open this weekend at Disneyland Resort, it will align with an additional thrilling addition: starting July 26, Deadpool will be appearing in Avengers Campus at Disneyland California and Disneyland Paris for a brief period before the premiere of “Deadpool & Wolverine.” According to recent reports, this could lead to a lively weekend at Disneyland. However, keep in mind that the Haunted Mansion reopening news should be taken with a pinch of salt.
