The Downtown Disney District within the confines of Disneyland has broadened its options with the inauguration of two captivating new spots: Disney Wonderful World of Sweets and Parkside Market. These additions offer distinctive tastes, magical aesthetics, and fresh adventures to visitors at Disneyland Resort.
The debuts of the two fresh dining spots happen simultaneously with Disneyland Resort’s ongoing Lunar New Year festivities, offering a mix of beloved classics and thrilling novelties for visitors. Previous hits such as Korean-style BBQ Chicken and Dalgona Coffee Bundt Cake return to the menu, while newcomers like Brown Sugar Milk Tea and Snake Sourdough Bread make an appearance too.
On January 22nd, the Disney Delightful Universe of Desserts officially opened its doors, serving as a heaven for sweet enthusiasts. This magical haven boasts an enticing selection of desserts inspired by Disney characters, ranging from classic choices like caramel apples and churro toffee, to tangy sour balls, colorful lollipops, and packaged candy delights. In addition, the exhibition kitchen offers a unique experience where guests can witness the crafting process of beloved treats such as caramel apples and freshly made Werther’s Original Caramel Popcorn.
Simultaneously, the new Parkside Market made its debut on the same day, encompassing four distinct culinary experiences within a single venue, thereby expanding the variety of dining options available in the west end district.
Disney Wonderful World of Sweets and Parkside Market Open at Downtown Disney District
At Disneyland, a new character named Poppi the Popcorn Bucket has been introduced as part of The Disney Wonderful World of Sweets menu. This Mickey-eared, cheerful popcorn-themed figure can be found adorning cake pops and other themed items, making it an ideal treat for families visiting Disneyland. To mark the store’s opening, Poppi has been unveiled as a unique souvenir and collectible item.
The exterior of the store boasts golden-framed windows, pink-gold gradient columns, Mickey-shaped treat sculptures, and flowing metal ribbons, while inside, vibrant decorations such as a blue rug bordered in pink, walls lined with colorful treats, and giant lollipop swirls on the ceiling create a magical atmosphere.
Enhancing the delightful Disney World of Sweets, the recently established Parkside Market offers a carefully chosen variety of four unique dining experiences all in one place, adding to the west end’s culinary scene. Developed by Levy Restaurants, Parkside Market showcases an assortment of diverse flavors:
- Seoul Sister: A fast-casual eatery offering Korean-inspired dishes, including bibimbap (Korean rice bowls).
- Sip & Sonder: A vibrant spot for lattes, fresh treats, frozen drinks, and Caribbean-inspired bites.
- GG’s Chicken Shop: Serving chicken sandwiches, salads, and classic sides reminiscent of dinner table favorites.
- A second-story bar offering signature craft cocktails, mocktails, and appetizers, with views of the Downtown Disney District.
Besides the two freshly opened shops, Disneyland is getting ready to unveil two highly anticipated restaurants from Michelin-starred chef Joe Isidori: a steakhouse and a BBQ joint. Those planning to visit Downtown Disney for the enhanced dining and shopping experiences are advised to check out the parking options at Disneyland Resort beforehand.
