Dispatch Reaches Two Million Copies in Less Than A Month

AdHoc’s new release, Dispatch, has quickly become a bestseller, selling two million copies in less than a month. Episodes 7 and 8, released just last week, reached one million copies sold in only ten days.

Dispatch, a game released in late October, centers around Robert, a retired superhero who now works as a dispatcher, sending reformed villains on jobs in Los Angeles. Developed by AdHoc Studios – a team formed from former TellTale Games members – the game features the classic interactive storytelling style where your choices impact the story. It quickly became Steam’s top-selling game, achieving this with just the first two episodes. Within a week and a half of launch, it had sold a million copies. Now that all episodes are available, the development team has announced another impressive achievement.

AdHoc Studios Celebrates Two Million Copies Sold for Dispatch With New Drawing

We’re disappointed there won’t be any new episodes this week, but we’re incredibly grateful to the 2 million players who have joined our community so far – we couldn’t do this without your support! Artwork is by Derek Stratton.

AdHoc Studios recently announced that their game, Dispatch, has reached a major milestone, selling two million copies – a fantastic achievement for an independent game! To celebrate, Derek Stratton, the game’s artist, created a new illustration of the popular character, Beef. The artwork has a slightly melancholic feel, reflecting the fact that the game’s story ended with episodes 7 and 8. Despite this, the team expressed their gratitude for the support of their dedicated fanbase.

So, right now you can play Dispatch on PC and PlayStation 5. I’m still waiting to hear if it’s coming to Xbox Series X|S or the new Nintendo Switch, but there’s been no word on that yet. We haven’t gotten any news about Season Two either, which is a bummer, but the developers really want to bring it back, which is good to hear. Considering how long it took to make the first season, I’m guessing we’ll be waiting a while to rejoin the Z-Team. Still, it’s gotten super popular – even got a Game Award nomination! – so I’m feeling optimistic about the future of the game.
