Does Borderlands 4 Collector’s Edition Come With The Game?

As a devoted fan of the Borderlands series, I can’t help but feel drawn to the allure of the Borderlands 4 Collector’s Edition. It seems like an irresistible opportunity for fellow fans who share my passion for this thrilling franchise.

These days, choosing games with multiple versions can get quite confusing. What exactly does the purchase include? Could the additional features significantly enhance your gaming experience? Are the extra items truly valuable for the price you pay?

When buying the Borderlands 4 Collector’s Edition, it’s essential to be aware of what’s included, and here’s if it comes bundled with the game itself: Yes, typically a Collector’s Edition includes the base game.

Do You Get a Copy of Borderlands 4 With the Collector’s Edition?

Regrettably, I have to clarify that the Borderlands 4 Collector’s Edition does not include a copy of the game itself. Despite Randy Pitchford, Gearbox CEO, expressing enthusiasm for the bundle on Twitter, calling it “pretty rad” and predicting it might sell out, it doesn’t change the fact that the game isn’t included in the Collector’s Edition as per our question.

The Special Edition of Borderlands 4 is now up for pre-purchase at GameStop! It’s quite exciting and might run out quickly, so don’t miss out if you’re a fan: pre-order it today!

The picture showing the bundle clearly outlines all items you’ll receive upon purchase. However, a large notice appears in the lower right corner stating that the game itself is not part of this package.

It’s perplexing why Gearbox might create a collector’s edition without including the actual game itself. This strategy seems to hint at an attempt by businesses to mislead customers into spending more. By omitting the game from the collector’s edition, it appears cheaper on paper. However, if you’re seriously considering the collector’s edition, chances are you’ll end up buying the game as well. This way, Gearbox and GameStop can advertise a lower price without compromising their revenue, since they will still receive money for both items in the bundle.

Borderlands 4 Collector’s Edition, Explained

Known otherwise as the ECHO-4 bundle, this exclusive offering from GameStop retails for $150 and includes the following items:

OR

Referred to as the ECHO-4 bundle, this special edition from GameStop costs $150 and comes complete with the following goods:

  • 8 in tall figure of ECHO-4 with LED lights
  • Cloth map of Kairos
  • Four double-sided art prints featuring the game’s vault hunters
  • Vault symbol necklace
  • SHiFT code card that rewards five golden keys upon redemption

The Borderlands 4 Collector’s Edition appears to be a great buy primarily because of its attractive collectible figure, but it seems quite pricey without the actual game itself. You’re looking at spending a minimum of $220 for the complete package, and that assumes you don’t decide to upgrade your regular game version to the deluxe edition for an additional $100 or the super deluxe for $130. These upgraded versions include extra DLCs not found in the ECHO-4 Bundle.

We’re not trying to dictate how you should spend your money, but we personally think the Borderlands 4 Collector’s Edition might not be a good investment. The main perk of the package is five key codes, which means you’ll likely need to shell out over $200 for the game to reap the benefits of weapons that may quickly become obsolete in your inventory. Additional items seem like they could be purchased on eBay at a lower cost in a few months.
