StarRupture is now available in early access! The game, developed by Creepy Jar, challenges players to survive on a dangerous planet, and many have been asking about whether it supports controllers.
StarRupture became available to early access players on January 7th, letting them start playing before the official launch. However, the game is still under development and will receive further updates and improvements before its full release.

Does StarRupture Have Controller Support?

StarRupture launched in early access on January 6th and currently only supports mouse and keyboard – controller support isn’t available at this time.
You can customize controller settings in Steam, but it can be tricky. It’s easy to overlook important controls, especially for features that aren’t obvious right away.
Steam lets you download controller setups made by other players, so checking Reddit and Discord for these shared profiles can be helpful.
Controller support isn’t completely off the table. Since StarRupture is still in early access and actively being developed, it’s still a possibility.
Will StarRupture Add Controller Support?
The developers of StarRupture might eventually add support for game controllers, but it’s not currently planned and isn’t a high priority.
The developers have outlined their plans for early access, and while they’re working on making the game more accessible with features like customizable keybinds, better subtitles, and adjustable text size, they haven’t announced whether it will support controllers yet.
The fact that controller support wasn’t included in the initial plans suggests it might not be available until after the game officially launches. This is similar to what the developers, Creepy Jar, did with their previous game, Green Hell.
Green Hell first became available in early access in August 2018, and the full game launched in September 2019. Controller support was added shortly after, in December 2019.
There’s no current estimate for how long the early access period will last, or when the full game will be released. It also seems like adding controller support will take some time.
