After overcoming Grumpy Kong within Donkey Kong Bananza, players will be granted entry to the SL301, a sublayer nestled within Canyon Layer. This is the penultimate and concluding layer in this particular map. In total, the Canyon Layer contains 79 Banandium Gems for players to amass, with 19 of them hidden within SL301.
In the case of this sublayer, it proves to be rather intricate. While the primary narrative of ‘Donkey Kong Bananza’ doesn’t necessitate frequent switching like the Lagoon Layer’s quest that demanded fixing a water crisis, those aiming for a complete 100% will find themselves traversing layers multiple times. This is especially true because several bananas in SL301 are concealed within pipes and can only be accessed from above, forcing players to travel from higher levels to reach them.
SL301 Banana #61 – Beat Grumpy Kong!
In the game, you’ll need to conquer Grumpy Kong located in SL300 to obtain the initial banana bunch in that same location, SL301. Defeating him is also the key to entering the following sublevel.
SL301 Banana #62 – Battle: Laser-Wall Brawl

In this region, players will stumble upon a secret portal concealed beyond a window. Herein, they’ll encounter three Crockoids that need to be defeated. One of them hides behind a single-laser barrier, making it simple to leap over. The second one is hidden behind a two-laser wall, which players can access by seizing a piece of the terrain and tapping the Jump button twice. Lastly, the third Crockoid is sheltered behind a three-laser obstacle; gamers must excavate a tunnel beneath it to reach the other side.
SL301 Banana #63 – The Refinery’s Hidden Hallway
As a seasoned adventurer, I find myself venturing down a concealed pathway. Ahead lies a battleground filled with formidable beasts that I must vanquish. Once triumphant, I’ll activate my Kong Bananza transformation to smash open the fortified door, finally granting me access to the secret chamber where the elusive Banandium Gem awaits.
SL301 Banana #64 – Peak’s Peek at the Refinery
In the seemingly out-of-reach depths of SL301, I stumbled upon a mystifying Banandium Gem. Upon closer inspection and some strategic thinking, I discovered that analyzing the level just above it would lead me to an entryway.

To acquire this gem, players should aim to teleport themselves to the “Big-Stretch Base Escape” location in SL300. From there, they need to walk along the side of the cliff and jump down near the area illuminated by a luminous substance. Once they’ve entered the cave beneath, they will find a pipe, but it’s blocked at the top by concrete. Players should scale the wall, reach the platform above the pipe, drop down, transform into Kong Bananza, and smash the concrete to clear the path. At the bottom, players can gather Banana #64 in Canyon Layer.
SL301 Banana #65 – Asleep in a Dormitory
Players will discover a hidden banana as they travel on the rail cart from the Banandium Refinery Gravel Storage. Along the way, they must collect Boom Rocks and utilize them to break open a specific structure by throwing the rocks at it. Once broken, players can disembark from the cart and seize the banana that’s inside the structure.
SL301 #66 – Surveying the Staff Dorms

In simpler terms, to obtain Banandium Gem #66, players need to travel to the location known as Warp Gong in SL300. Once there, they should climb the pipe next to the gong, transform into Kong Bananza, and break the concrete barrier so they can descend and collect the banana that’s hidden below.

SL301 #68 – Battle: Leaps Over the Laser
To start this contest, competitors need to crack open the Void Kong’s seal and descend through the manhole. Once inside, they should eliminate two monsters within a 30-second timeframe. These creatures have solid feet, making it more effective to transform into Kong Bananza for an attack. Additionally, during combat, they must dodge the lasers circling the battlefield.
SL301 #69, #70, and #71 – Laser-Zone Crossing, Laying Low in the Laser Zone, and Laser-Zone End Point

In the Spinning Laser Zone, there are three hidden bananas for players. The first and last ones can be discovered as part of the usual course progression, but the second one demands a special action: players must destroy the ground beneath them at midpoint through the course to reveal it. Here’s a full walkthrough for the Spinning Laser Zone challenge.
SL301 #72 – De-Voiding the Dorms

Players need to remove the blocked areas in the Refinery Terrace sector of Canyon Layer. They can accomplish this by moving into the room with lasers, scaling the wall to dodge them, using a melodic tune to break the seal on the mask, and then delivering a punch. Once the area is free of obstacles, players can gather the banana that appears.
