Dr Disrespect’s YouTube Channel Remonetized After Six Months

Summary

  • Dr Disrespect’s YouTube channel has been remonetized in late January 2025.
  • The streamer got demonetized in June 2024, after admitting to sharing inappropriate messages with a minor via Twitch Whispers seven years earlier.

Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, famously known as Dr Disrespect online, has successfully reactivated his ability to make money from his YouTube channel after a period of more than six months. The content producer can now earn revenue directly through YouTube for the first time in this duration.

In June 2024, Dr Disrespect openly acknowledged exchanging “improper” messages with a minor through Twitch Whispers back in 2017. Despite asserting that he didn’t break the law, he admitted these conversations were the reason for his permanent ban from Twitch in 2020. Shortly after his confession, YouTube took action to remove monetization from his channel. Since then, at the age of 42, this content creator has been striving to overturn that decision.

Approximately six months ago, his hard work started showing results. During a live broadcast on January 30th, Dr Disrespect announced that his channel would be re-monetized within the next day, once he sorted out some issues related to donations on the platform. According to Dexerto, this is indeed what happened, as advertisements have resumed playing on most of his YouTube videos and livestream VODs by January 31st, as reported by Game Rant’s review.

It remains uncertain why YouTube eventually chose to reinstate advertising on Dr Disrespect’s channel. Since September 2024, after a short break following his Twitch controversy known as the Whispers scandal, the streamer has been trying to rejoin YouTube’s Partner Program. Previously, YouTube had declined to reinstate ads on Dr Disrespect’s channel at least once, asking him to resubmit his application at a later time.

Dr Disrespect Will Continue Streaming on Both YouTube and Rumble

In November 2024, Dr Disrespect switched video services and started streaming on Rumble (which is owned by Google). He’s been active on both platforms since then and has even created some unique content for Rumble. It was rumored that he received over $10 million for his non-exclusive commitment to Rumble. However, as we move into early 2025, it seems his viewership on both platforms is decreasing. Yet, with YouTube now reactivating his channel, the streamer might not need to attract as many viewers to maintain his earnings from the latter half of 2024, due to the channel’s re-monetization.

After being reinstated on YouTube for monetization, Dr Disrespect’s channel went live as Midnight Society was closing down. The game studio he co-founded in late 2021 had been developing “Deadrop” over the past three years. However, ties were severed with Dr Disrespect by the studio in 2024, following revelations about his departure from Twitch in 2020. Additionally, Turtle Beach and the San Francisco 49ers, among other organizations, ended their relationship with the streamer due to a sex scandal.
