The latest episode, “Future Engine,” highlighted the newfound cooperation within the Kingdom of Science as they began their biggest project yet, and the next episode, “FIRE,” looks set to continue this theme, even with a troubling new message from Why-Man looming over everyone.
The Global Kingdom of Science is Ready For Bold Expansion
Senku and Dr. Xeno used to be bitter rivals, but their relationship has greatly improved, especially compared to their earlier conflict during the Science Future Arc. In the fourth season of Dr. Stone, Dr. Xeno started as Senku’s friend at NASA before becoming an enemy due to differing beliefs about how science should be used. He was upset by the old world’s limitations on his scientific ideas and initially demonstrated his frustration with powerful weapons in Corn City. However, Senku eventually convinced him to change sides, and now they work together as allies and equals. Both are essential for launching the new moon mission, and with Stanley Snider out of the picture, nothing can come between them.

Now that Stanley and his army have been petrified, Senku and Dr. Xeno can focus on managing the expanding Kingdom of Science worldwide. In the latest episode, Dr. Xeno stayed behind to oversee operations in South America’s Superalloy City, while another team maintained Corn City in California. This allowed Senku to embark on a global scientific expedition aboard the New Perseus, traveling much faster than previously possible. Senku isn’t sure exactly what he’s searching for, but he’ll recognize it when he finds it – and that could include meeting new allies.
I absolutely love how Dr. Stone isn’t really about fighting, even though battles do happen! For me, the real heart of the show is Senku building a civilization from scratch, and war always feels like a distraction from that. Whenever things calm down, it’s amazing because it means we get to see more inventions, more people joining Senku’s Kingdom of Science, and just overall progress. It was fantastic when Why-Man first showed up and started broadcasting, and it’s happening again now after the fight with Stanley. Even his creepy “DO YOU WANT TO DIE?” message is a cool way to add tension, especially since Senku doesn’t have anyone physically threatening him right now!
It’s hard to say exactly what will happen as the New Perseus sails around the globe, but fans of Dr. Stone can make some predictions. The main characters might be joined by new experts – and even security – as Senku searches for more people to revive. He’s especially looking for specialists who can help build a rocket, meaning they’ll need a rocket scientist, computer experts, meteorologists, astronomers, and similar professionals. Senku could also encounter new enemies during his journey, adding more challenges to the mission to reach the moon and confront Why-Man.

The latest, episode 25 of season 4, was available on April 2nd, and the next one is coming on the 9th at 10:00 AM Eastern. It’s awesome because the episodes air late at night in Japan, but we get to see them so much earlier thanks to the simulcast.
