The Dr. Stone anime is nearing its conclusion, and it definitely feels that way as the story progresses into the Spring 2026 season. Almost all of Senku’s former enemies – including Hyoga, Tsukasa Shishio, Kirisame, and Stanley Snider – have either become allies or been petrified. With the immediate danger gone, Senku Ishigami can finally focus on what he truly wants: a journey of scientific exploration and development where progress is the main focus.
Senku’s long-awaited Stone Age life is finally here, and with the help of Ryusui and Dr. Xeno, he’s making the most of it. As seen in Episode 26, Senku set off on the New Perseus to explore the world, and Episode 27 promises more of the same adventurous spirit. Titled “The Universe is Written in the Language of Mathematics,” the next episode will see Senku finish his travels in Spain and prepare for a meeting with a brilliant new mind who may be his equal.
The Final Pieces of the Kingdom of Science Will Fall Into Place
Senku is Almost Done Poaching the World’s Finest Talent
What really stands out to me about this part of Dr. Stone is how peaceful it is. Usually, shonen heroes are fighting for their lives right up until the very end – think of Deku finally beating Shigaraki in My Hero Academia, or Tanjiro taking down Muzan in Demon Slayer. But Dr. Stone takes a different approach. It’s still a shonen story with action, adventure, growth, and the importance of friendship, but Senku isn’t focused on defeating a big bad villain. It’s more about the simple joy of making discoveries and building things, and that’s refreshing.
The last few episodes of Dr. Stone feel less like a desperate fight to save the world and more like a working vacation. While the mysterious Why-Man remains a distant threat on the moon, Senku is focused on what he truly wants: bringing people back to life and building a peaceful, collaborative society. By now, Senku has a skilled team – including a craftsman, a bodyguard, and a watchmaker – covering all the essential roles. The upcoming episode will simply add one final, important person to complete the team for a specific task.
Senku is almost finished building up the resources he needs, which means he can start requesting more specialized skills from new members of the Kingdom of Science. A perfect example is his ambitious plan to go to the moon with Dr. Xeno. Reaching the moon is an incredibly difficult task in any era, and Senku needs more than just basic craftsmen to pull it off. That’s why the crew of the New Perseus is traveling to India – a region known for its cutting-edge mathematics programs. While they haven’t found the right person yet, this mathematical expert will be vital to Senku’s plans.
Science relies heavily on math, as seen even in the early days of Dr. Stone, before Senku rebuilt civilization. Considering Senku and Dr. Xeno are already skilled in mathematics, needing to specifically seek out a math expert highlights the complexity of their next goal: a moon landing. Achieving this will require advanced knowledge in areas like rocket science, astrophysics, and computer science, pushing the boundaries of STEM right in the Indian jungle.

Growth Takes Priority Over Conflict in the Coming Episodes
Senku’s Adventure is More Like a College Course Right Now
The current season of Dr. Stone is different from most action-packed shonen anime—it largely avoids direct fighting. While a lack of conflict would usually stall a series like Jujutsu Kaisen or Chainsaw Man, Dr. Stone thrives because it’s a shonen anime focused on exploration and progress. The typical shonen emphasis on battles between characters has shifted, though Senku and Dr. Xeno still face a massive challenge in overcoming the obstacles presented by the natural world.
Senku isn’t really ‘fighting’ in the traditional sense; he’s embarked on an incredibly ambitious, years-long project. Even with Dr. Xeno’s help, launching a rocket to the moon is a massive undertaking. The story’s excitement comes from how and when Senku will achieve this, and it’s unique because it doesn’t rely on typical battles. This arc feels like a long preparation period without any immediate dangers. Episode 27 will highlight this, showing the Kingdom of Science gaining a mathematical expert not to fight someone like Minister Ibara, but to create something completely new for this Stone Age world.
