As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that BioWare has truly outdone themselves with Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Having played countless hours of the original series, I can attest to the fact that this sequel not only lives up to its predecessors but surpasses them in many ways.
One week after the debut of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, developer BioWare has released the initial update, packing a variety of adjustments and enhancements for their RPG follow-up. This patch also introduces some Mass Effect-themed content to celebrate N7 Day on November 7.
In this update, the main focus is on resolving bugs. However, while adjusting Rook’s casual and mission attire, you’ll discover a collection of N7 outfits in the Lighthouse. And let me tell you, the list of changes for this patch is quite extensive.
From blocking issues preventing progress in quests to a fix for the endlessly repeating banter between certain characters (Harding and Taash, we’re looking at you), there are also multiple adjustments to the sound quality and direction. Perhaps one of the most immediately noticeable fixes is one that allows long hair to correctly interact with armour. You can check out the full patch notes here that go into proper detail.
As a devoted fan, I must admit that the latest N& Day content isn’t exactly thrilling at first glance. However, it offers a fresh new casual outfit, armor set, and helm for my character Rook – each piece tailored according to class and race. And let’s face it, who doesn’t love a free upgrade for their in-game avatar?
In the meantime, you can read our review of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, in which we said:
Regardless of minor visual flaws, sound design imperfections, and camera hiccups, Dragon Age: Veilguard offers an enjoyable experience overall. Whether you prefer a fast-moving narrative or a leisurely exploration, the game provides numerous side missions and optional activities. The storyline is compelling, keeping the series’ traditional themes such as secretive guilds, darkspawn menace, heroic characters, and oppressive mage factions, while managing to feel fresh and relevant more often than not.
Veilguard” is a game produced by BioWare and distributed by Electronic Arts. Right now, you can play it on your personal computer, PlayStation 5, or Xbox.
