With my history of sinking countless hours into the rich and immersive worlds created by this esteemed game developer, I can hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of adding another entry to my collection. This is indeed great news for me and fellow enthusiasts who prefer the convenience and compatibility of the Steam platform.
I’m thrilled to share that BioWare announced on X (previously known as Twitter) that their game will not only be playable and verified on Steam Deck at its release, but it will also be a natively designed application for Steam.
Our advancement towards the autumn rollout is significant, and I’m pleased to share that #DragonAge: The Veilguard will fully embrace Steam’s offerings.
The Steam Deck has verified our game for seamless playability, so no need for the EA App to run the game.
In simpler terms, BioWare’s statement indicates that you won’t require the EA App for running the game on your PC or Steam Deck if you purchase it from Steam. When you hit the play button, the game will start directly without needing an additional launcher. This is significant as it simplifies the Steam Deck verification process, which ensures optimal performance and issue-free gaming experience on this device. Previously, fans had to go through extensive efforts to make older titles work on Steam Deck. With this development, they can now enjoy a smoother gaming experience without any hassle.
