As a huge Dragon Ball fan, I’m always amazed by how powerful Legendary Super Saiyan is! It’s seriously the strongest standard Super Saiyan transformation, hands down. Think about it – even without God Ki, Broly in this form absolutely dominated Goku and Vegeta when they were both in Super Saiyan Blue, together! It took Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta just to have a chance, showing you how unbelievably strong this form truly is.

Broly’s incredible hidden power certainly plays a role, but the Legendary Super Saiyan transformation itself is exceptionally strong. Very few forms in Dragon Ball Super are more powerful, and even those are only slightly stronger. Because Broly gets more powerful as a fight goes on, this form has the potential to become the absolute strongest in the entire series.
5. True Ultra Instinct is Goku’s Strongest Form Right Now

Even though Vegeta and Gohan might currently be more powerful than Goku, Ultra Instinct remains one of the most formidable forms in the Dragon Ball series. During the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Goku masters True Ultra Instinct, an enhanced version he can now activate like a normal transformation. This allows him to combine Ultra Instinct’s automatic movements with the power boosts from his different Super Saiyan levels.
During the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Goku hadn’t yet learned to activate Ultra Instinct at will because the story happened right after the Tournament of Power. However, after training with Merus, he can now easily switch Ultra Instinct on and off, just like any other transformation. With Goku now fully mastering Ultra Instinct, he has the upper hand against Broly – but only until Broly gains control of his own immense power.
4. Vegeta Would Never Have Lost if He Had Ultra Ego During Dragon Ball Super: Broly
Vegeta briefly became more powerful than Goku after achieving Ultra Ego during his battle with Granolah. While Goku’s control over Ultra Instinct is much better than Vegeta’s understanding of Ultra Ego, Goku’s natural strength and abilities allowed him to win against Vegeta in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Had Vegeta been able to use Ultra Ego during the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie, he likely would have defeated LSSJ Broly.
Even if Vegeta doesn’t fully control it, the Ultra Ego transformation is incredibly strong. Like Broly, Vegeta actually grows more powerful the longer a fight lasts, especially when he’s taking hits. If Broly can’t knock him out quickly, the power boost from Ultra Ego would be enough for Vegeta to defeat the Legendary Super Saiyan. Currently, Vegeta is already strong enough to battle Gohan Beast in his Super Saiyan Blue Evolved form, as shown in chapter 103 of Dragon Ball Super.
3. Gohan Beast is Objectively Stronger Than Legendary Super Saiyan Broly

Following the established pattern in Dragon Ball, each new villain is more powerful than the one before. This suggests Cell Max is stronger than Legendary Super Saiyan Broly. Piccolo reinforces this idea by stating he doesn’t think Goku or Vegeta could win against Cell Max. Having witnessed Goku and Vegeta’s abilities during both the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie and the fight against Moro, Piccolo is a reliable judge of their strength.
Gohan Beast is significantly stronger than Broly, being the only character currently shown capable of defeating Cell Max. This is further emphasized in Chapter 103 of Dragon Ball Super, where Gohan Beast spars with Super Saiyan Broly. Even without Broly transforming into his Legendary Super Saiyan form, Gohan Beast dominates the fight and ultimately wins.
2. Black Frieza is the Most Powerful Transformation in Dragon Ball Super
Black Frieza is arguably the most powerful unique form in Dragon Ball Super. After training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for ten years – a chamber he discovered while traveling the multiverse – Frieza evolves from a regular Legendary Super Saiyan into a being strong enough to easily defeat both Goku and Vegeta, and even eliminate Gas. He didn’t finish them off only because they weren’t present when he achieved this power.
Throughout Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Goku and Vegeta focus on training to defeat Black Frieza. Their decision to also train Broly on Beerus’ planet suggests that even Broly’s powerful Legendary Super Saiyan form isn’t enough to handle Frieza. While Broly has potential once he fully controls his Legendary Super Saiyan transformation, he wouldn’t stand much of a chance against Black Frieza in his current state.
1. Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta Was Already Strong Enough to Defeat LSSJ Broly

Gogeta is potentially the most powerful character in Dragon Ball Super, but it’s doubtful Goku and Vegeta will fuse to become him again. They see Gogeta as a final option and prefer to avoid relying on him. They only fused into Gogeta in the first place because Broly, in his Legendary Super Saiyan form, was too powerful for them to defeat as Super Saiyan Blues.
Gogeta’s unique Super Saiyan Blue form is far more powerful than Legendary Super Saiyan Broly in every way. Originally, in the script for Dragon Ball Super: Broly, their final fight was even intended to take place on the surface of the sun! If anyone can beat a Legendary Super Saiyan, it’s Gogeta Blue – the strongest fusion character ever created.
