Dragon Ball: 8 Strongest GT Techniques

Though often debated by fans, the late 90s anime series GT continues to be revisited and analyzed. Despite its flaws, GT introduced the popular Super Saiyan 4 transformation, demonstrating that it wasn’t without creative merit.

Just like other Dragon Ball shows, GT featured a lot of impressive and powerful attacks. It’s tough to compare them to the even more powerful moves in Super, but looking back, these were some of the strongest techniques used in GT.

Electro Eclipse Bomb

As a Dragon Ball fan, I always felt Android 17 got a much better deal in Super compared to GT. In Super, he was a key player on Universe 7’s team during the Tournament of Power, and even showed up in the manga with a cool role in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. But GT… well, it brought him back as this seriously overpowered, villainous version of himself, which just didn’t feel right to me!

Super 17 is a combined form created by merging Android 17, who was manipulated by outside forces, with Hell Fighter 17, a powerful machine created by Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu. Often overlooked, Super 17 proved to be a formidable enemy with a wide range of attacks. His most devastating move was the Electro Eclipse Bomb – a dark, grayish energy sphere crackling with red lightning. While it doesn’t appear very impressive, this attack is incredibly strong and capable of completely destroying everything in a large area.

Super Dragon Fist

The Super Dragon Fist is a devastating attack that combines Goku’s signature ‘Penetrate!’ move with the Dragon Fist technique he originally used to defeat Hirudegarn in Wrath of the Dragon.

I watched as Goku launched a direct, powerful rush attack. He charged forward, enveloped in a golden dragon aura, and threw a devastating punch right through his opponent. I remember seeing him use this against Super 17 – it didn’t defeat him instantly, but it definitely softened him up and paved the way for the final blow with the Super Dragon Fist.

Revenge Death Ball

Baby was a particularly compelling villain in GT, especially considering his connection to the Saiyan race. Though the Shadow Dragons were arguably the main threat of GT, Baby remains one of the most memorable antagonists in the series.

Like many powerful villains, Baby could unleash a devastating energy attack capable of destroying planets. His Revenge Death Ball was a sphere of dark energy crackling with electricity, formed from the negative emotions he drained from those he controlled – much like a Spirit Bomb. Upon impact, it would explode, obliterating a huge area. At its strongest, the attack could certainly destroy a planet, though the method of destruction would differ from other planet-level attacks.

Maximum Final Flash

Vegeta had some great scenes in Dragon Ball GT, and he expanded his already impressive range of fighting skills. While transformed into a Super Saiyan 4, Vegeta unveiled what is likely his most powerful attack yet.

The Maximum Final Flash is a more powerful version of the Final Shine Attack. It’s performed like Vegeta’s Final Flash, where he fires a two-handed blast at his opponent, dealing twice the usual damage. He and Goku both use this incredibly strong attack – Goku with his 10x Kamehameha – against Omega Shenron, but even combined, they can’t significantly harm the Shadow Dragon.

10x Kamehameha

I’m a huge fan of Goku’s attacks, and the 10x Kamehameha from GT is seriously one of his most powerful! It’s basically a supercharged version of his classic Kamehameha wave, taking everything up to eleven.

When Goku performs this attack in his Super Saiyan 4 form, it appears red, setting it apart from all other versions seen throughout the Dragon Ball series. For a long time, this was Goku’s most powerful version of the move, remaining so until the Super storyline introduced even stronger techniques.

Negative Karma Ball

Omega Shenron is considered one of the most formidable villains outside of the main Dragon Ball story. He often appeared nearly invincible, using a diverse range of powerful attacks. However, his most devastating move was undoubtedly his Negative Karma Ball.

This attack builds up from the dark energy radiating from the cracked Dragon Balls on the user’s chest. It starts as a series of small, red energy bursts that combine into a powerful, large sphere. Once it hits, the attack is incredibly destructive, and nearly defeated Goku.

Big Bang Kamehameha

As a huge Dragon Ball fan, I’m always amazed by how powerful Vegito and Gogeta are! They’re both fusions of Goku and Vegeta, so naturally, they have some moves in common. But they also each have their own special attacks. The Big Bang Kamehameha is one of those moves they both can pull off – it’s a shared technique!

Vegito first performed this technique, but Gogeta later used it in GT. It’s essentially a super-powered Big Bang Attack, boosted by a Kamehameha wave to create a massive explosion. When Gogeta used it as a Super Saiyan 4, it was one of his most powerful moves, and among the strongest attacks shown in GT.

Super Ultra Spirit Bomb

I’ve always thought the Spirit Bomb was an incredibly powerful attack, maybe one of the strongest in the whole series. It really depends on how much energy Goku can gather, but when he does, it’s capable of defeating even the most powerful villains. I remember when he used a Super Ultra Spirit Bomb to finally defeat Omega Shenron – it was devastating!

Unlike a standard Spirit Bomb which gathers energy from one place, the Super Ultra Spirit Bomb collects energy from the entire universe. This allows it to reach incredible power levels and inflict far more damage than any other Spirit Bomb. It’s considered Goku’s most powerful attack in the GT series, and the strongest attack in the whole Dragon Ball saga.
