Interestingly, Kakarot also added a brand new ending to the DAIMA storyline. In this ending, Goku and his friends discover a shop in the Demon Realm selling multiple Evil Third Eyes. This reveal, along with the fact that the Dragon Team never truly left the Demon Realm, led fans to speculate about a possible sequel series as early as episode 20 of Dragon Ball DAIMA.

Right after the last scene of Dragon Ball DAIMA, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot shows a new scene after the credits. Goku thinks about how much he enjoyed being a kid again, wishing he could stay that way just a little longer, but not forever. While Goku talks, a shopkeeper from the Demon Realm overhears and offers him Mini Bugs – special items that can temporarily turn anyone who eats them back into a child.

I’ve been thinking about this new scene, and it seems like it could have been added to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot just to let players control Mini Goku. But it’s really important to remember that Akira Toriyama wrote the entire Dragon Ball DAIMA story himself, and he even helped expand the lore for Kakarot while he was still with us. So, it’s just as possible that this scene is either something that was cut from Episode 20 of DAIMA and never animated, or that the developers are working directly from notes Toriyama-sensei left behind for the series.

Because Dragon Ball DAIMA heavily features smaller, child-like versions of its characters – even using them in its advertising – it’s likely that a second season or a movie would continue to focus on these younger forms of the Z-Fighters. A Dragon Ball DAIMA Sequel Makes More Sense Than A Dragon Ball Super Remake

There are two main rumors surrounding the upcoming Dragon Ball Genkidama Matsuri event: either a sequel to Dragon Ball DAIMA or a complete remake of Dragon Ball Super based on Toyotarou’s manga. A DAIMA sequel seems more likely. Although Toei recently issued a DMCA notice on X suggesting a Dragon Ball Super remake is in development, completely redoing DBS so soon after its original run doesn’t quite add up.

Considering the unpredictable nature of Dragon Ball, it’s possible, but fans would likely have to rewatch familiar storylines for several seasons before reaching the Moro arc. Also, Dragon Ball DAIMA is currently the newest anime in the franchise, and Dragon Ball typically prioritizes fresh content. What’s more, DAIMA is uniquely special because Akira Toriyama wrote it himself, including the dialogue, while Dragon Ball Super was based on his general ideas.
