Although Dragon Ball Daima initially began somewhat slowly, it has since significantly accelerated and amassed a vast number of dedicated fans. The primary setting for the series, the Demon Realm, is an intriguing landscape brimming with mysteries and aspects that echo elements in our own universe. One of the most striking features of this realm are the Join Bugs, used as the method of fusion in place of the Potara Earrings and Fusion Dance.
With the recent introduction of a new fusion method called the Join Bug in Dragon Ball, fans are left pondering about its possible effects on the series’ future. Since we’ve seen both the Potara Earrings and Fusion Dance in action previously, let’s explore potential applications for the Join Bug fusion and discuss what kind of fusion it would create for Goku and Vegeta.
What Are The Join Bugs?
The Newest Fusion Method
First Appearance | Dragon Ball Daima, Episode 4, “Chatty” |

Debut Date | Novermber 1, 2024 |
The Demon Realm is a fascinating, universe-like location with numerous similarities. One captivating feature is the assortment of Medi-Bugs available in its shops, which have a wide range of uses. Some can fully rejuvenate a user’s health and vitality, while others are specifically designed to alleviate headaches.
The most captivating among these are the Join Bugs, where consuming two halves enables two individuals to merge into a formidable warrior as one. We don’t yet understand the specifics of this fusion or its power level, but considering Goku has some Join Bugs, it appears that Daima may be hinting at them fusing with Vegeta towards the conclusion of the series.
How This Fusion Could Be The Strongest
A Superior Fusion Method
It’s suggested that Goku and Vegeta might fuse again at the end of Dragon Ball Daima, using the Join Bugs, which has left fans of the series eager to see how this fusion will unfold. Previously in the series, the Saiyans have utilized two different methods of fusion: the Potara Earrings and the Metamoran Fusion Dance.
As a die-hard fan of Dragon Ball, I’ve always been captivated by the mystical Potara Earrings! These enchanting artifacts are wielded by the mighty Kais, and when two individuals wear one on each ear, they instantly merge into an unstoppable force – a warrior that eclipses the strength of both original entities. In the epic duel between Goku and Vegeta, their fusion birthed Vegito, a powerhouse beyond comparison!
However, there’s a catch: when these two titans fuse using the Potara Earrings, the fusion can be unstable due to excessive power output. As we saw in Vegito Blue’s battle against Merged Zamasu, this imbalance could potentially disrupt the union. So, while the Potara Earrings offer incredible power, they come with a significant risk!
Instead, let me rephrase that for you: The other way to fuse warriors is the Metamoran Fusion Dance, where they perform a synchronized dance instead of using earrings. This fusion creates a combatant as powerful as those formed by the Potara Earrings, but unlike Potara, the Fusion Dance lasts a full 30 minutes regardless of power output, making it more reliable. However, the downside is that the fusion must be executed flawlessly by both parties; any error can result in an incorrect fusion that cannot be undone for 30 minutes, which makes the Potara Earrings easier and quicker to use.
Here, the Join Bugs offer the benefits of every fusion method without their drawbacks. Given that they require consumption to initiate fusion, they share the ease of use comparable to the Potara Earrings. However, if they can maintain the fusion for a set duration, regardless of power level, they provide the advantages of the Fusion Dance.
It’s a simple technique, but we have to harmonize our spiritual energies or it won’t work.
In essence, the Join Bugs are ideally positioned to become the ultimate fusion choice moving forward. Given that Vegito and Gogeta possess equal power, the same can be applied to the new fusion resulting from the Join Bugs. If a new fusion doesn’t materialize, the Join Bugs could serve as an easier method to summon either of the previous fusions instead.
Despite the new fusion not inherently being stronger than existing methods like the Potara or Fusion Dance, due to a lack of proof that the Join Bugs could boost strength beyond their capabilities, it is likely that this approach will emerge as the favored and conclusive method for fusion in the future.
Dragon Ball can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
