In Episode 9 of “Dragon Ball DAIMA,” titled “Thieves,” there was a slight pause in the action with some humorous scenes as we move closer to the midpoint of our adventure. However, Dr. Arinsu’s complex scheme has taken a significant step towards becoming a serious threat. Goku and his companions continue their quest for Tamagami Number Two and the subsequent Demon Realm Dragon Ball. Vegeta is growing more impatient to keep pace with them all. This episode provided enjoyable moments for beloved characters as we progress on our journey.

Following a highly intense battle against Tamagami Number Three, Goku managed to obtain the Three-Star Demon Realm Dragon Ball, emerging victorious. This fight was undoubtedly Goku’s toughest encounter with an adversary, but it might just be a prelude to even greater challenges as the story unfolds. At least three sinister plans seem to be brewing as we approach Episode 9, and one of them, dating back to the Saiyan Saga, could potentially create DAIMA’s most formidable foe yet.

After vanquishing Tamagami Number Three, Dragon Ball DAIMA commenced Episode 9 by allowing Goku and his companions a brief respite. Panzy reached her limit when Shin proposed they camp in a concealed location again, but her cunning idea to cover Goku’s iconic spiky hair with a pink bear hat didn’t quite work on the little hero, who simply removed it amidst a hotel lobby. Unfazed by the hat causing Goku discomfort, Panzy swiftly replaced it on his head, but even that brief instant was too much. Later in the evening, a werewolf caused turmoil in the lobby, compelling Goku and his group to exit their room as the werewolf’s bird-like associate swooped down to pilfer the Three-Star Demon Realm Dragon Ball. Their scheme unfolded seamlessly, but Goku and Glorio swiftly pursued and recovered their recently swiped item.

In another realm of the Third Demon World, Hybis, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Bulma awoke following an overnight hotel stay, only to discover that the aircraft they had arrived in was missing. Meanwhile, Goku, Glorio, Panzy, and Shin dropped by for a brief encounter. However, the quartet hurriedly took off again, bound for Tamagami Number Two due to lack of space on their plane for the other group. This sudden departure angered Vegeta, which wasn’t ideal for the group that had just attempted to hijack the plane. In the end, Vegeta and Piccolo were able to display their strength by destroying the attackers, and the leader of the hijackers, now barely conscious, agreed to return the aircraft.

The quartet quickly got back in the air and headed towards the next Tamagami.

The news that Goku had defeated Tamagami Number Three reached the Supreme Demon King Gomah, causing him great anger. He felt he should’ve wished for “the Third Eye” when making his wish to Shenron earlier. This remark hints at the ancient Triclops race Tien Shinhan descended from, but it remains unclear if they were originally tied to the Demon Realm. Previously, Gomah was the main antagonist in DAIMA, but another enemy is emerging as a greater threat to Earth’s heroes. In Episode 8 of Dragon Ball DAIMA, Dr. Arinsu initiated another secret plot by giving Majin Buu’s essence to someone, the very witch who created him. With the creation of a new Majin almost complete, Marba decided to add one more ingredient to this multifaceted Majin concoction. In a nod to the Saiyan Saga of Dragon Ball Z, one of only two remaining Saibamen seeds was added to this Majin brew and rapidly grew into the surprising creation of Majin Kuu.

In the final moments of Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 9, Majin Kuu – who resembles a Saibaman and is a spiritual successor to Majin Buu fused with Kid Buu – embarks on a mission to vanquish Tamagami Number One for Dr. Arinsu. The brief teaser for Episode 10, titled “Ocean”, hints at Hybis and Bulma enjoying the aftermath of a beauty salon visit, but the focus lies primarily on the remaining Tamagamis as we approach the midpoint of this series. If both Goku and Majin Kuu prevail in their respective battles, Dragon Ball DAIMA may be on the brink of summoning a demonic version of Shenron.
