In the series Dragon Ball DAIMA, the group made an unexpected stop at the Demon Realm before reuniting, but their journey down memory lane on Namek wasn’t yet finished. The previous episode suggested trouble for Earth’s heroes, but a mysterious villain could potentially become a crucial ally. With Tamagami Number Two as their next destination, Dr. Arinsu finds herself needing to team up with Marba again. After Majin Kuu’s defeat, Dr. Arinsu still has one final opportunity to recruit a fighter who could shift the balance in Dragon Ball DAIMA.
It seems the application of Majin Buu’s essence to create Majin Kuu was a grand accomplishment, yet Tamagami Number One proved an insurmountable challenge for Kuu. After spending much of the previous episode showcasing his abilities, Majin Kuu accepted the defeat and withdrew alongside Dr. Arinsu. However, encounters with some cunning thieves and a monstrous kraken have delayed the Z fighters, but they’ve finally regrouped on the original Namekian home planet within the Second Demon World. Supreme Kai attempted to shed light on the history of the Demon Realm for the group, yet they remain only one-third complete in their quest to make a wish powerful enough to revive Dende and restore them all to adult forms.
Dragon Ball DAIMA Welcomes An Unlikely Ally as Majin Duu is Born
As Dragon Ball DAIMA commenced, the Supreme Demon King Gomah turned to an ancient Namekian named Neva for aid in obtaining and utilizing the Earth’s Dragon Balls. Believed to be the solitary Namek remaining within the Demon Realm, Neva unexpectedly manifests himself before the group as they prepare to depart from what remains of the Namekians’ home planet. At The Lookout, only Dende and Mr. Popo were present when Neva arrived. Piccolo swiftly recognizes the visitor, and it becomes clear that Neva knew Piccolo’s father, Katatz. To his surprise, Neva encounters a “Warrior Namek” reminiscent of Katatz. In response, Piccolo promptly explains the connection, revealing that Katatz was indeed his dad.
More precisely, Katats’ son was originally the Namekian known as neither name, who later separated into King Piccolo and Kami. In essence, this means he is the grandfather of Piccolo Junior, although the fusion of Piccolo Junior with Kami has added complexity to their family lineage.
Initially, Neva appeared to be a villain, but his actions in Episode 11, titled “Legend”, portray him as more of a neutral character. In fact, Neva is responsible for crafting both the Demon Realm Dragon Balls and the potent Tamagami that protect them. During their encounter, Panzy questions why Neva hasn’t seized power from Supreme Demon King Gomah, to which Neva responds by stating, “Nameks should not employ their power in conflicts.” This statement caused a few amused glances among the group, especially directed at Piccolo, but Glorio reminded everyone it was time to get back in the air since the Gendarmerie were still pursuing them.
At first, Neva’s sudden invitation to join the group is declined because the ship is becoming congested. However, it is later disclosed that any wish made with the Demon Realm Dragon Balls must be spoken in Namekian. Given that our current ally is the only one who can still communicate in Namekian, he decides to board as the vessel sails towards the second Tamagami battle in Dragon Ball DAIMA.
Nameks must not use their power for conflict.
After Majin Kuu lost against Tamagami Number One, Dr. Arinsu heads back to Marba and suggests they take a big risk for one final attempt. Since just a small portion of Majin Buu’s essence was used to create Kuu, Dr. Arinsu proposes using all the leftover essence and planting the last Saibaman seed much deeper. Although Marba warns that this could result in failure or a harder-to-control creature, Majin Duu is born. With a physique similar to Majin Buu’s, Duu also develops Buu’s craving for chocolate. As Duu’s fight against Tamagami Number One starts, it becomes evident that he not only has the power but the unpredictability that made Buu such a fearsome adversary.
In the realm of the Second Demon World, it’s no surprise that Vegeta requests to face Tamagami Number Two. At first, the guardian refuses Vegeta because of his youthful appearance, but upon seeing Neva, his creator, watching with their group, he recognizes the gravity of the situation. The fight between them commenced, with Vegeta holding his ground. However, in the climax of Episode 11, a colossal kraken resurfaced and engulfed Vegeta before the episode ended. A sneak peek of Episode 12, titled “True Strength”, offers fans glimpses of Tamagami Number One battling Majin Duu and Tamagami Number Two squaring off against Vegeta as these two intense battles reach their boiling points in Dragon Ball DAIMA.
